The title Vignette here is used in the literary sense of the word, although there's no solid concept of any kind aside from that implied by the title of each piece. They are simply a vague descriptive of a moment or mood.
There is no obligation to perform these as a suite, although for concert programming I thought that something faster and less pastoral would be in order, hence the scherzo for No. 3.
The mp3 file is a Sibelius playback with generic sounds so this should not be used as a guide to the organ registrations. These are specific enough in the score and should be adhered to as much as practical.
The Trois Vignettes would suit moderate to advanced players.

Prelude on Adoro Te Devote is a work for organ based on the famous Eucharistic hymn written by Thomas Aquinas, suitable for a prelude at any Catholic Mass throughout the year or for use at Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament or Benediction. It is, in fact, Adoration set to music, which is evident by its meditative quality. The piece would work well on most organs; registration can be done simply or more enhanced when circumstances allow. Most organists and parishes would be appreciative of this work, which beautifully sets the tone for worship.

Chorale Prelude on Rockingham (composed 2018, duration ca. 4’ 10�). The text most commonly associated with this tune (When I survey the wondrous cross) is reflective, and inward looking. In it the writer marvels at the depth of God’s love for us, and is humbled by the vastness of our challenge in reciprocating it. We can only stand in awe at the impossibility of our task. Likewise the task of the arranger who tries to capture, in music, a fraction of these feelings. The piece begins very simply and grows more complex, with each statement of the hymn tune more elaborate than the last. Flowing triplets keep the motion going, and the rich harmonic palette is accentuated by several unexpected modulations. The mood is serene, though not always quiet, and often with uncertainty bubbling right under the surface.

Pure Caribbean. Pure energy. This tune is from a West Indian carol, so it has Christmas origins, but even if the lyrics are known they are generic enough that you could use this anytime of the year when you want to have fun! Contains 2 key changes, some dynamic echoes, but always with a driving island rhythm. Premiere Performance was at a presentation on Caribbean music, used as an example of typical Caribbean exuberance, structure and form, and Caribbean rhythms, including polyrhythms. Marked as Advanced Intermediate simply because some people have trouble with the rhythms; but otherwise, Early Intermediate. 4 page organ solo. (Apologies for the bad recording equipment; it was recorded on a million dollar pipe organ but I realize it doesn't sound like it.)
