This Partita on Llanfair was written in honor of the dedication of the Holtkamp Organ at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Madison, Wisconsin.  There are four parts, each in a different style.  Part 1 is intended to be a fanfare.  Part 2 is intended to be an allegro and includes Duke Street as a counter-melody.  Part 3 is intended as a meditation.  Part 4 is in a toccata style.   These parts can be used for pre-service, offering, postlude, or even a recital/hymn festival.  Texts associated with this tune include:  Christ the Lord is Ris'n today; Jesus Christ is Ris'n today; Hail the day that sees Him rise; and others.

Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763285). This well known hymn melody arranged for organ is suitable as either a prelude or a postlude during the Advent and Christmas season. Because it is sung to a variety of texts it is also suitable during Easter. The chorale melody is in the Pedal in long notes, making this arrangement not too difficult to play, but very effective. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763283). Also known as Luther's Cradle Hymn (tune Mueller), this American Christmas carol melody is much admired. This new arrangement for organ sees the melody in the right hand with gentle 'cradle rocking' left hand 8th notes above the held pedal notes anchoring the slow moving harmony. The end result is a gentle, reflective and musically satisfying arrangement of a much loved Christmas carol. Use an expressive 8' stop to solo the melody and balance it against an open 8' flute (or 8' and 4' flutes if the 8' is too quiet). Couple the left hand to a quiet 16' Pedal stop. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763276). Joy To The World, for organ, an arrangement of the familiar melody Antioch. The melody by Lowell Mason was inspired by the music of Handel. This arrangement has been written mainly for manuals but with an easy pedal part. This setting of the tune will make a welcome addition to your Christmas repertoire. The digital sound file lacks proper organ registrations, but allows you to imagine how you could register this music on your instrument. If you do not have an 8' trumpet available, use Gt 8'4' with sesquialtera for the solo and Sw 8'4'(2') for the accompaniment. The score is two pages with a performance time of a little under two minutes. (See also my other arrangements, including 'Jingle Bells'.
