Composed by Albert Roussel. Arranged by Charles Decker. 20th Century,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Multicultural,World. 18 pages. Charles Decker Music Press #6133733. Published by Charles Decker Music Press (A0.817162).
This brilliant fanfare from 1921 by Albert Roussel, influential French composer of the early 20th century, is an impressive showpiece for four B-flat or C trumpets with timpani. Beyond performances for recitals or ceremonies, this accessible work for students can be an exciting opening for a band or orchestra concert featuring the trumpet section. The timpani part comes in two keys for use with either B-flat or C trumpets. The sound file is an actual trumpet ensemble performance of the entire work and not a computer playback of the score.
