This is the first movement of the scarce Quartet Nr. 3 by Wilhelm Ramsöe.  It is a little over five minutes long, but it is never dull.  This is a six-part quartet arrangement with part 2 for trumpet or F horn, and part 3 for trombone or F horn.  The tuba part easily lays well for euphonium.  Ramsöe and Ewald are the most popular writers for brass from the Romantic era.  Of the five quartets by Ramsöe, this third is the least know and heard, but who knows why.  It is delightful.  Other movements to follow.
