This delightfully rhythmic original composition is very flexible. It may be played as a double-choir piece for handbell and handchime choirs or by handbell choir alone. Originally written for handbells and harp, this arrangement of the tune Ellacombe can be played by two handbell or handchime choirs, or one handbell or handchime choir with harp or piano. This piece is a duet between the two parts, with each part carrying the melody at different times. This would be a wonderful opportunity to get together with another handbell choir, or to have two choirs at one church play together, one choir playing bells and one choir playing chimes.

This American melody from the mid-1800s is given expressive and sensitive treatment by arranger Karen Buckwalter. Following a quiet and serene opening, it blossoms in the center section with full and beautiful harmonies and then returns to the original serenity of the opening. Perfect for themes of baptism, discipleship and compassion, Meditation on Beach Spring will be a very versatile addition to your handbell library.
