3, 4, 5, or 6 octaves handbells - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: C7.CGB529 Psalm 121. Composed by Cathy Moklebust and David Moklebust. General, Lent. With Organ, 3 octaves handchimes. Score. 8 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGB529. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGB529). UPC: 749193012901.This calm, meditative original composition directly reflects the text of Psalm 121 in a lyrical style, with gentle, flowing rhythms and sweeping melodies. The words of the Psalm are printed along with the music, so ringers and directors will be able to relate the music to the text, thus enhancing interpretation. Although the organ and handchime parts are optional, they lend a beautiful richness and fullness to the sound. This piece is appropriate for Lent or times when themes of hope and strength are the focus.

Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGB685. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGB685). UPC: 749193016954.Level 2 • A beloved Norwegian Christmas carol has been arranged with a cheerful original melody, reminiscent of a music box. The first stanza presents the traditional tune, accompanied by an LV eighth-note pattern and lilting chords. The original melody returns as an interlude leading into the second stanza, which includes thumb-damped eighth notes in the upper treble, with the melody and bass lines played with handchimes. The piece concludes with the original melody, which becomes slower and softer as the music box winds down. There are no accidentals in this delightful, accessible arrangement.

Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767633 Composed by Rowland Hugh Prichard. Arranged by c.e. walz. Christmas,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. C.E. Walz #3359569. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767633). This BEGINNING HANDBELL CHOIR piece has a lovely melody. Some bells play harmony, so let the melody come through every time. This is Maestro’s favorite advent carol, for as he frequently recalls, I sang a solo in ‘Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus’ when I was in a renowned boy choir many years ago. I understand, from Maestro, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I’ll reserve comment on that one! This one-octave piece has bells that range from G4 – F#5.  For church, school, or civic organizations.  Key of A, two pages, 1:22 minutes performance time at 90 bpm, but it can be taken faster or slower.

Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767671 Composed by John Bacchus Dykes, Spanish Hymn, and and Johann M. Haydn. Arranged by c.e. walz. Sacred. Score. 7 pages. C.E. Walz #4802319. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767671). Maestro gives his seal of approval for these beginning handbell arrangements of  three traditional worship hymns (Come, Christians, Join to Sing, Holy, Holy, Holy, and O Worship the King.) Created to insure quick success for new ringers, WORSHIP BELLS hymn trio does not include hymn melody or intricate rhythm patterns. Ringers play 'simple to count' chords for the most part. I use the color-coding method of highlighting the ringer's notes in the handbell chart and then highlighting with the same color the notes in the hymn. Each measure is numbered and if your ringer can count and follow the colors, he/she can ring! For those new to reading music, music instruction begins with identifying 1/4, 1/2, whole notes, dotted notes, repeat signs, and practicing specific rhythm patterns for each hymn. Identifying note names comes later. You'll have a great sounding handbell choir in no time, especially when you add in your piano/organ accompaniment of these hymns and a soloist, ensemble, or congregational singing! Seven pages total. The first page of the set gives more helpful information, so as Maestro would say, Go ring those bells!.

Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1049642 Composed by Thomas Haynes Bayly. Arranged by John Wernega. Folk,Instructional,Traditional. Score. 1 pages. John Wernega #654022. Published by John Wernega (A0.1049642). Here is an opportunity for your young ringers to play an arrangement completely written on treble clef! There are two distinct, independent contrapuntal lines, depicted with stems-up and stems-down. This is great for inexperienced young ringers because they are playing harmonies without all the confusion of finding their notes on the page. I premiered this arrangement with my third grade bell choir, so this is tried and tested. Your young ringers will really enjoy the experience of playing this arrangement.

Handbell - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767673 Composed by 16th century Dutch melody. Arranged by c.e. walz. Folk,Holiday,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. C.E. Walz #4846953. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767673). This piece could utilize up to 12 members, but usually many members play two bells, so it could be a piece for six ringers. We Gather Together is one of my favorite hymns, and I'm sure Maestro would agree that it has a lovely melody. Key of D, two pages, no key changes. Performance time is 1: 25 if you take the repeat, shorter without it. PRACTICE HINT:  The dotted quarter note in the melody may be unfamiliar to some beginning handbell ringers. Some clapping exercises with the melody might be helpful. In addition, the second layer (those notes with stems going down) does not play the dotted rhythm. It would be wise to have those ringers practice their smooth, consistent lines before pairing them with the more syncopated melody.

Handbell - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767636 Composed by Thesaurus Musicus, 1744. Arranged by c.e. walz. Folk,Holiday,Instructional,Patriotic,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. C.E. Walz #3234707. Published by C.E. Walz (A0.767636). The patriotic tune America (My country 'tis of thee...) is arranged here for a BEGINNING HANDBELL CHOIR. All notes fall within one octave:  G4 - F#5. Practice suggestion:  begin at a slow steady pace, around 60 bpm, and work up to 90 bpm. For school, church, or civic organizations. My friend Maestro had two suggestions for arranging handbells for beginners:  use a familiar melody with the lyrics included (this helps beginning musicians follow along) AND make sure all rhythms follow that melody (there are no extra passing tones to throw players off the beat). I always follow Maestro's musical advice. His fashion advice, not so much!  Key of A, two pages, 1:00 minute performance time.
