The slow, somber opening section, in F minor, is very effective when rung entirely on handchimes. At measure 22 the key changes to F major, the tempo changes to Allegro guisto, and if handchimes were used for the opening section, the handbells are used from here to the end of the piece. To aid in interpretation of the music, the choral text is provided on page 8.

This piece should be rung at a brisk tempo, cleanly damped, and have the clarity and lightness typical of Mozart's early writing. Achieving this will make the piece more difficult than it may first appear.
