This is a one-act musical to be performed for children.  It takes traditional nursery rhyme characters and interweaves their stories to create a fun, and sometimes poignant, tale of love and self-discovery.

The characters include Wee Willie Winkie, Jack and Jill, Mary (who had a little lamb) Georgy Porgy, Tom Tucker, the Baker, and the Candlestick Maker.

Preface
Being a kid can be fabulous and frightening at the same time.  There are so many new things to find and feel and life is an adventure that's exciting and scary.  As adults, we've all been there, and have become what we are because of where we've been.  It's sad though, to see grown-ups who have lost the child in themselves. There's something very healthy in being able to play, pretend, imagine, laugh without reservation, and cry without embarrassment.  Once Upon a Rhyme  was intended to speak to the child in us all, whether we're 6 or 60.  We invite you to... look and you will find visions in your mind of a day when love was play and life a nursery rhyme.  Once upon a rhyme, forever in your heart. I'll Get Over You is a song written by Richard Leigh, and recorded by American country music artist Crystal Gayle. It was released in March 1976 as the second single from the album Somebody Loves You. The song was Gayle's seventh chart hit and her first number-one country hit in 1976. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills for your listening (playing?) pleasure - we hope you like what we've done to make this arrangement unique!

My Cabaret Songs are an ongoing collection of songs that speak from the heart. I have sought poems to interpret musically that address the human condition. In Out of Danger, by James Fenton, the works have been woven into a complex fabric of emotion. Whatever Happened to Love in this World is a setting of lyrics composed by my son, Christoper Neil. And the set concludes with Encryption, a setting of original poem. My music seeks to illuminate these subtle nuances and bring power to their meaning. The harmonic coloring is rich and the melodies are lyrical with an emotional intensity that I believe the vocalist can really embrace.

I Don't Like Winter and Other Songs to Celebrate the Winter Season is a collection of 11 songs for young singers filled with tunes about all aspects of the winter season - from skating alone on the pond in the backyard, picking out presents for siblings,  spending time with the family, embracing the cold, wanting to escape the cold, going to visit Santa for the first time, and being so enthusiastic to celebrate all of the special days that happen at this time of year!

This collection was inspired by a voice teacher friend of mine - serendipitously also named Tiffany  :-) -  who was looking for songs about the season that were non-traditional and relatable to a wider range of singers. It's my pleasure to offer up some options!

I had so much fun writing these songs and I hope students, teachers, and audiences alike enjoy them just as much! May you laugh as you state your case to go on a winter vacation.  May you cry at the idea of wearing a special hat made with a grandmother's love. May you be left  breathless with joy as you glide on a frozen pond with no one else around.  In addition to all of these brand-spankin' new tunes, I also included the previously-released  Everyone's a Kid at Christmas because, well, it's a hoot!

These are crowd pleasers perfect for holiday recitals, and some can be performed in a group as well as solos.

A note for teachers: These songs do have varying ranges. I, for the most part, notated them as I conceived of them. But I did my best to provide alternate pitches in case the melody goes a little high or a little low. So, I invite to you peruse a song in it's entirety and see where there may be options even if the designated range may seem a little wide. It is my intention to make these songs as accessible to as many singers as possible.
