SKU: A0.1216738

Composed by Arthur Ager. Arranged by Robert Luke Thompson. 20th Century,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Spiritual. Score. 5 pages. Monkspath Music #813277. Published by Monkspath Music (A0.1216738).

James Arthur Ager (1867-1947) was a British composer, organist, and music educator. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music in London under Hubert Parry and Frederick Bridge. Ager served as the organist and choirmaster at St. Andrew's Church in Birmingham for over 50 years. Ager also became Professor of Organ & Harmony at the Birmingham and Midland Institute School of Music (the predecessor of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) for nearly four decades.

Although not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, Ager's music, including a variety of songs, choral, piano, and organ works, is worth exploring for those interested in late 19th and early 20th-century music. Perhaps his most famous composition is The Legend of St. Christopher, a cantata based on the medieval legend.

Eventide is a beautiful vocal piece composed in 1916, with lyrics written by Arthur's daughter, Gladys. It is suitable for a wide range of voices (including soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone) and can be a great alternative to traditional hymns like Abide with Me.

Often associated with evening and twilight, Eventide is a versatile piece that can be sung on various occasions where a reflective and contemplative atmosphere is desired. It is ideal for Christian worship services, funerals, memorials, candlelight vigils, recitals, or concerts where a reflective, serene, and tranquil atmosphere is desired.

SKU: A0.883717

By Queen. By Freddie Mercury and Frederick Mercury. Arranged by Andrei Hadap. Rock. Score. 7 pages. Andrei Hadap #3455813. Published by Andrei Hadap (A0.883717).

This is my own arrangement of one of Queen's greatest hits and is a 2018 Keyboard Contest Entry. I've tried to include as many textures from the original which many arrangements lack; such as the bass part, piano chords and the groove provided by percussion as seen in the LH ostinato figure. While it may seem difficult on the page, separating each texture such as practicing the LH rhythmic ostinato and the melodic RH independently will work wonders. One characteristic of this arrangement is the gradual increase in texture complexity for every progressive verse until reaching its climax in the last.  This arrangement will certainly impress!
