This scary Latin American folk song is perfect for Halloween!  And, with both Spanish and English lyrics, it’s a great tune, in both musical style and dramatic narrative,  for students.  I advise using it only for high school age and older singers, however, due to the story it tells of the selfish and deadly Llorona’s history. The audio samples are from the very beginning of the arrangement and the closing.

Historical content?  Actually written in 1984 in Maumee, OH, this song was officially copyrighted in 1986.  1987 Gregor was whisked out of state to a new locale where attendance to making a living else wise became the mode o' day like most compose/lyricists.  Mark, one of the most gifted jazz artists on the planet, continued his dailies teaching, gigging, and studio work.  Many beautiful songs fell through the cracks while Gregor, and equally gifted composer~lyri.
