Barrett co-wrote the song with Zach Kale, Emily Landis, and Jim McCormick, while Kale produced the track with Ross Copperman. The song reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and is certified platinum in the US. This contemporary version features a root-based chord-blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements.
