Misty is a jazz standard written in 1954 by pianist Erroll Garner. He composed it as an instrumental in the traditional 32-bar format, and recorded it for the album Contrasts - lyrics were added later by Johnny Burke. It appeared on Johnny Mathis' 1959 album Heavenly, and this recording reached number 12 on the U.S. Pop Singles chart later that year. It has since become the signature song of Mathis. This version, in the key of F major, features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added some pretty cool left-hand fills for your listening (playing?) pleasure - we hope you like what we've done to make this arrangement unique!

Suddenly It’s Spring was written by Jimmy Van Heusen with lyrics by Johnny Burke. The song was copyrighted on 7 December 1943 and recorded by Ginger Rogers and Don Loper for the 1944 feature film Lady in the Dark, though it was cut from the film. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have implemented in many of our arrangements. We hope you like what we've done with this grand old tune!

The song was written for the Paramount Pictures release Road to Morocco (1942) and published in 1942 in connection with the film. Vic Schoen (staff arranger for Paramount) wrote the arrangement.
