How High the Moon is a jazz standard with lyrics by Nancy Hamilton and music by Morgan Lewis. It was first featured in the 1940 Broadway revue Two for the Show, where it was sung by Alfred Drake and Frances Comstock. In Two for the Show, this was a rare serious moment in an otherwise humorous revue. This contemporary version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of our arrangements. Play it as-is or make it your own - your call! Have fun with it - we did!

Somebody Else Is Taking My Place is a song with words by Dick Howard and music by Russ Morgan and Bob Ellsworth. It was written in 1937 and first recorded by Benny Goodman and his orchestra with vocals by Peggy Lee. This version was developed from the original 1937 sheet music and features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in many of  our arrangements. We also modified the melody slightly to mimic some of the recorded versions of this great old tune.
