Stairway to the Stars is a popular song composed by Matty Malneck and Frank Signorelli, with lyrics by Mitchell Parish. It was based on a theme from Malneck and Signorelli's 1934 instrumental piece, Park Avenue Fantasy. Hit recordings in 1939 were by Glenn Miller, Kay Kyser, Jimmy Dorsey and by Al Donohue. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. We also added what we think are some pretty cool left-hand fills. Moonlight Serenade - is an American swing ballad composed by Glenn Miller with subsequent lyrics by Mitchell Parish. It was an immediate phenomenon when released in May 1939 as an instrumental arrangement, though it had been adopted and performed as Miller's signature tune as early as 1938, even before it had been given the name Moonlight Serenade. In 1991, Miller's recording of Moonlight Serenade was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. I offer a piano version of the Moonlight Serenade for the intermediate level

This is a contemporary arrangement of a great song written in 1934 by Peter De Rose - Mitchell Parish added lyrics after the song increased in popularity. This version features a root-based chord-blocking technique that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. Chord-blocking in the right hand is very subdued because of the strong melody of this classic song. We hope you like it!
