I Found a Jewel

♫ original song by Stephen R Dalrymple
♫ (Worship Team Edition)
♫ based on Matthew 13:45-46
♫ CCLI Song # 7142178
♫ Well known melody from the Scottish folksong Waly, Waly (The Water is Wide.)
♫ with optional flute part
♫ The most precious and valuable gems of the Roman empire were not faceted diamonds and the like, but pearls. (Cleaving gems was not a technology known in the first century.) The metaphor of the pearl has been modified to gem since they are normally more highly valued in the 21st century. Jesus challenges us to consider the Kingdom of God as the most valuable and desirable possession a person can dream of. ♫ The tune for the song is based on the Scottish folksong Waly, Waly (The Water is Wide.) This tune dates to the 16th century or before.
♫ This .pdf file includes 1) labeled copies for up to 7 printed copies of the lead sheet for worship team use, 2) vocal line with piano accompaniment, 3) optional flute part, and 4) lead sheet for 10 inch tablet, and vocal line with piano for 10 inch tablet.
