The indwelling of the Holy Spirit was not permanent until Pentecost, but the filling is seen throughout the pages of Scripture. â™«The filling of the Holy Spirit ought not be connected with one specific activity (such as the gift of tongues) but any activity that the Holy Spirit can use to accomplish bringing glory to God. Micah was filled with the Spirit of God when he prophesied against the leadership of Samaria and Jerusalem. Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit as he spoke to the pilgrims at Pentecost.
