SKU: A0.1173633

Composed by Pasquale Cafaro. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Classical,Early Music,Opera. Score. 7 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #773780. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.1173633).

Accessible Accompaniments is proud to present the first-ever modern-clef performing edition of Pasquale Cafaro’s once enormously popular aria, “Belle luci, che accendete,†from La disfatta di Dario (1756). As noted in Giorgio Sanguinetti’s The Art of Partimento and other sources, this aria was considered the ideal Galant-era (early Classical) example of aria writing in its day, and its theme was even painted onto pottery to be sold to tourists in Naples.

While the aria was written for a castrato role, Alessandro, it is ideal for today’s young lyric coloratura sopranos who want to prepare for Mozart roles but wish to wait until they’ve found their mature vocal technique before tackling those roles. Additionally, because this La disfatta di Dario setting is a rarity and singers are unlikely to be hired for this role, it could be sung in transposition by young mezzos and other fachs without causing logistical issues like the need to produce orchestral parts in new keys.

Other aspects of this aria that make it a welcome addition to the voice teacher’s library are its widespread orchestral doubling of the vocal line (something that will help students who are still working on intonation and support), its relatively short, Italian-language text for easy memorization and diction acquisition, and its straightforward textual content—it’s a love song. In audition situations, this aria will be enjoyable for panels to hear, and because they will be very unlikely to know the aria, they won’t be able to critique it as closely as they would critique an aria they know well. It should also be sight-readable by an audition pianist of middling skill, another important consideration in choosing audition repertoire.

This new edition was engraved using Bernardo Mengozzi’s piano-vocal reduction from 1804, which preserves the soprano clef voice part and is not widely usable today, and I made some corrections to missing accidentals and articulations by cross-checking with the manuscript full score. Both are available at imslp.org. I also write out the appoggiatura executions and one potentially confusing polyrhythm on ossia staves to assist young singers/collaborative pianists who haven’t done much of this repertoire.

Range: Eb4-Bb5 without ornamentation
Tessitura: around Bb4-F5/G5

Text:

Belle luci, che accendete
In quest' alma un dolce foco,
Siete voi, e voi sarete
La mia calma, e il mio piacer.

Sì, la calma, e il piacer mio
Tutto, e sempre in voi s'aggira,
Per voi solo il cor respira,
Nè più brama il mio pensier.

SKU: A0.829234

Composed by Tim Minchin. Arranged by Brianne Lundberg. Broadway,Children,Contemporary,Film/TV,Musical/Show. Score. 6 pages. Brianne Lundberg #5288581. Published by Brianne Lundberg (A0.829234).

This playful piece from Matilda the Musical explores how children see grown ups and all that they imagine they will be able to do when they’re grown up. With a driving beat and a perfect balance between lightheartedness and solemnity, “When I Grow Up†is a fantastic and engaging modern musical theatre piece.

This is an intermediate piano arrangement with optional vocal solo, set in the original key (F major). 5 pages (plus cover); includes repeats with 1st and 2nd endings. It is written in the same style as the original, but simplified to make it playable for an early to mid intermediate pianist. Good for smaller hands (largest harmonic interval is minor 7th). Includes chord symbols.

This arrangement is a great standalone musical solo piece and includes all lyrics up through the verse originally written for Miss Honey; ends after this section (does not include the final upbeat section where Matilda's lyrics begin with Just because you find that life's not fair...).

May be performed as a piano solo or as a vocal accompaniment. If used for vocal accompaniment, the vocalist should read the Treble staff of the piano part. Lyrics indicate which notes to follow. Vocalist should adjust octaves as needed. Lower harmonies are generally meant to be played by the pianist (not sung).

Composed by Norman Mathews. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show. Score. 83 pages. Eburn Press #5026519. Published by Eburn Press (A0.1032610).

This collection of ballads (six instrumental and ten vocal) was composed over a period of thirty years. I place these works together because the ballad is my favorite genre of song. All the songs are presented in lead-sheet format. The vocal pieces, however, are in addition given in their original arrangements. Some of these songs in the arranged form are not truly jazz inflected. I believe, though, that an inventive pianist may give them a jazz feel using the lead-sheets as blueprints. With some of the vocal works, I have transposed them up in order to make them more comfortable on the keyboard. The arrangements remain in their original keys. The vocal pieces are from either my Dorothy Parker musical, You Might as Well Live (which has been performed by Tony-Award-Winner Michele Pawk and Broadway star Karen Mason) or from a cabaret revue, entitled Somebody Write Me a Song (which has been performed by Tony-Award-Winner Debbie Gravitte and Tony-Nominee Liz Callaway). The vocal pieces are suitable for cabaret performances or audition purposes. The instrumental pieces are designed for jazz performers. The first piece, Anders' Theme, was originally written for sax. The recording of this can be heard on ht e AudioClip. I am an ASCAP composer. For more information, visit my website:  https://normanmathewsauthor.com

Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Children,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Kevin G. Pace #985396. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1402188).

A beautiful, sacred song for children with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.

Text:
He came to Mary; He came to Joseph.
He came from Father up above.
He was a Baby who grew to manhood.
He came to show the world his great love.

He was a teacher for ev’ry person.
He showed me how to live in peace.
With his forgiveness I can be like Him,
Then kindness on the earth will increase.

His name is Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
He healed the sick and raised the dead.
But then He suffered because He loves me,
And soon He died from blood that was shed.

Chorus:
He is my Savior and I can thank Him
For ev’ry selfless gift He gives. He gives!
He is my Savior, and I will love Him
Because He came to earth. Now He lives!

SKU: A0.915701

Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. Christian,Contemporary,Gospel,Sacred. Score. 9 pages. Barber Music Company #4727367. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915701).

Dedication

Sometime in the 1980's, Richard Tober, a brother in Christ who was also an appliance repair man, came to our house on Hill Street in Coloma, Michigan to fix our kitchen range. He knew that I was a composer, and during the course of his time with us that day he told about his love for Jesus and his aspiration to write poetry with music to express that love. He didn't feel he was equipped to put music to his words, but he did have a poem that he gave me, wondering if I would set it to music for him. It was a difficult task because Richard's poetry was not set up in any formal poetic fashion; it was, however, a fulfilling task because his poem was such a simple, childlike, personal expression of his love for the Lord. I Am Going Home to Glory is the result of our collaboration. He was thrilled with the outcome. Now that Richard has left this world to be with Jesus, I am happy that God allowed and enabled me to set Richard's poem to music. -Richard Barber

By Jackaleen Justice - Angelical Realm. By Jackaleen Justice - Angelical Realm. Arranged by Jackaleen Justice - Angelical Realm. Country,Traditional. Score. 3 pages. Angelical Realm #644235. Published by Angelical Realm (A0.1039325).

I’ve Tried Song Description Song Creation A fundamental idea behind each lyric in this song was developed by the Lyricist and Composer, Jackaleen Justice, who poured her heart and soul into the makings of this musical artwork. The lyrics attempt to depict a time in her life when she felt the same way as the singer in dealing with a challenging situation on her journey through life. In creating this musical artwork, the composer wanted to evoke an idea of a long-term relationship and being hurt often over many years. Throughout the years, many people around the world have been hurt in relationships. The song’s Composer wanted to help those around the world who have been in similar position to be able to relate to those feelings through this piece of musical artwork. Song Composition While creating the rhythm for this song, the composer aimed for a moderately slow tempo. After the lyrics were added, the target of approximately 80 - 90 beats per minute became unattainable, resulting in 78 beats per minute instead. In the end, it proved to be a much better tempo for the song, because it made the final piece sound much more polished and superior. Song Completion This musical piece is perfect for someone looking for a well-written and well-composed song that has rhythm that makes it stand out from all the others. With the right vocalist, this song has great potential in the music industry.

Composed by Tiffany Prochera. Arranged by Tiffany Prochera. Children,Christmas,Holiday. Score. 79 pages. Swimming Tigress Music #1073003. Published by Swimming Tigress Music (A0.1496482).

I Don't Like Winter and Other Songs to Celebrate the Winter Season is a collection of 11 songs for young singers filled with tunes about all aspects of the winter season - from skating alone on the pond in the backyard, picking out presents for siblings,  spending time with the family, embracing the cold, wanting to escape the cold, going to visit Santa for the first time, and being so enthusiastic to celebrate all of the special days that happen at this time of year!

This collection was inspired by a voice teacher friend of mine - serendipitously also named Tiffany  :-) -  who was looking for songs about the season that were non-traditional and relatable to a wider range of singers. It's my pleasure to offer up some options!

I had so much fun writing these songs and I hope students, teachers, and audiences alike enjoy them just as much! May you laugh as you state your case to go on a winter vacation.  May you cry at the idea of wearing a special hat made with a grandmother's love. May you be left  breathless with joy as you glide on a frozen pond with no one else around.  In addition to all of these brand-spankin' new tunes, I also included the previously-released  Everyone's a Kid at Christmas because, well, it's a hoot!

These are crowd pleasers perfect for holiday recitals, and some can be performed in a group as well as solos.

A note for teachers: These songs do have varying ranges. I, for the most part, notated them as I conceived of them. But I did my best to provide alternate pitches in case the melody goes a little high or a little low. So, I invite to you peruse a song in it's entirety and see where there may be options even if the designated range may seem a little wide. It is my intention to make these songs as accessible to as many singers as possible.
