Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Christian,Pop,Sacred. Score. 9 pages. Boothe Publishing #4360949. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.984012).

Just one person doing what he knows is right will set off a chain reaction for the good that will go on and on. Before I arrived at mission age I had to make a lot of decisions about whether or not I wanted to go on a mission. There were so many voices calling out to me. The voices promised me scholarships and fame. The voices questioned my logic. The voices tried to make me doubt my motives and character. The voices ridiculed me and my desires to do good. The voices told me that they loved me, but wouldn't wait for me if I went on a mission. All of those voices were demeaning of me if I went on a mission. They also promised me joy, but only if I decided not to go on a mission. I ultimately decided to go on a mission. By going on a mission I was put in a situation where I could testify of God's gospel truths. Those people hearing the truths had the opportunity to pray to God to find out for themselves if what they had been taught was true. Those people that talked to God in prayer joined the church. Why? Because God answered their prayers. Some of those new members went on missions to other lands converting through the spirit of the Holy Ghost others, who in turn went on missions to other lands. The cycle continues. Just one person doing what he knows is right can set off a chain reaction for the good that will go on and on.

By Stacey Plays Hymns. By Stacey Plays Hymns. Arranged by Anastace. Advent,Christian,Christmas,Religious,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Anastace #1079559. Published by Anastace (A0.1504104).

Here is a beautiful, simple advent song I wrote to serve churches through the season of Advent, particularly during the candle lighting portion of each Sunday the weeks leading up to Christmas. I recommend singing verse 1 on week 1, verse 1 and 2 on week 2, and so on, but you can also just use a different verse each week depending on your service needs and time constraints. There are recordings available of each of the weeks on all streaming platforms as of November 1, 2024, in case that is helpful to your service preparation or to choirs who are learning the song.

This version is in C Major, with a vocal range of C4-A4, with an optional descant that reaches E5. Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site, is a guitar lead sheet version and a piano solo that is perfect for a prelude or postlude any time this song is used congregationally, to tie the whole service together muscially.

Purchase includes a free license for four church services with under 300 people, with proper attribution and credit to Stacey Plays Hymns in any printed or online materials. For a license to use this work on a larger scale, please contact me for permission and other usage details including lyrics formatted for printing in church bulletins or for powerpoint. Please let me know if there is any other way I can serve you as a congregation or fellow music/choir director as I endeavour to write several new choral anthems per year, along with my other recording work.

Thank you for supporting modern hymnwriters and musicians!

(for Danny) Taken from the Empty Arms Companion Songbook, this song is written for a mother and father who have lost a child. The male solo voice will bring a gentleness to the message of this song, that they look down from Heaven and will be near, as long as they are needed. This reflective arrangement of My Country, 'Tis of Thee for vocal solo with piano accompaniment would be a beautiful addition for a Memorial Day, Veteran's Day or Independence Day service. This arrangement begins with the traditional lyrics of the first verse, then the prayer for guidance and ends with the last verse.  Performance time: 3:00; Vocal Range: B3-E5
LYRICS:
 My country, 'tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty of thee I sing,
of this land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrim's pride
From ev'ry mountain side let freedom ring!

Our Father help us to live selflessly,
and do Your will with our liberty
help us to share,
help us to care for people in this land,

the souls who've lost their joy inside
may we stand with them and walk beside our neighbor
with Jesus as our guide
God our Father and our King!

Our father's God, to thee,
Author of liberty to thee we sing!
O Long may our land be bright with freedom's holy light.
Protect us by thy might, Great God Our King! Our King!
From ev'ry mountain side let freedom ring,
Let freedom ring!

Composed by Steven H. Boothe. Arranged by Ashley Ivers. Contemporary,Pop. Full Performance. Duration 351. Boothe Publishing #4737093. Published by Boothe Publishing (A0.1069987).

I love my Mother and Father. They love me and their parents loved them. In this song, a mother who is in the hospital sees her deceased parents in her hospital room. They are there to escort her home. Mom and dad have always been there for me. I wrote this song when a teenage friend named Dustin died. Years later Dustin's mother was in the hospital. She could see three people standing in the back of her hospital room. She asked her mother, who was present, if she could see anyone standing in the back of her room. Her mother looked to where her daughter pointed, but she couldn't see anyone. She told her mother that she thought the three people that only she could see had come to take her home. She passed away later that day. Its nice to know that we have family and friends both here and on the other side of life.

SKU: A0.738138

Composed by Fiona Hickie. Contemporary,Standards. Score. 7 pages. Fiona Alice Hickie #4853343. Published by Fiona Alice Hickie (A0.738138).

A song about loss of love and the devastation it causes to our lives.
Lyrics:

1.

My roots once clung to the earth,

The wind is calm the river still.

As if nothing else survives.

My world is empty, am I alive?

From my limbs a fruit was plucked,

Within its sheath my heart was tucked.

Its seeds contained my unknown future,

Inside a flesh so sweet and pure.

2.

Would my seeds find a place to fall?

Nice fertile ground so they'd grow tall.

Or would they find some barren ground.

Where no love or nurture can be found?

Without the fruit my limbs were bare.

An old tree nearby just stood and stared.

Why should it stop and help the tree

Who let its fruit be taken from thee.

3.

About the charmer who took the fruit?

Should he help to make them grow?

Instead he walked right off the land.

With barely a wave of his hand.

He bit the apple as he walked away.

Enjoying its flesh but did not stay.

No care at all for the damage he’d done

He took the heart from his loved one.

4.

So grow another fruit you say.

And yes that would be the logical way.

But some trees grow abundant fruit.

Small and nice without dispute.

Others instead grow one to perfection.

Round and sweet, on close inspection.

But once it’s gone then that is all.

Then no more shall ever fall.

5.

I sit here on the barren hill,

The wind is calm the river still.

As if nothing else survives.

The world is empty no soul survives.

Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Kathryn W. Hales. Children,Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 6 pages. Kevin G. Pace #954376. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1370002).

A children's song, telling the story of the sons of Mosiah from the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Christ.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Kathryn W. Hales.

Text:
The Lord told King Mosiah to let his sons go away,
To the land of Nephi where for many years they'd stay.
They wanted to preach the gospel in the Lord's ministry,
To the sinful, wicked Lamanites who were their enemies.

Now one of the sons was Ammon who had been a rebellious youth,
But after Alma's change of heart, he wanted to know the truth.
He became Lamoni's servant, watching over the king's sheep,
He beat some robbers who came to steal, leaving a pile of arms at his feet.

Then he taught King Lamoni the true source of his strength and might,
That the king should change his ways, repent and do what's right.
Lamoni believed what Ammon taught and all his people too,
They became so very righteous because God's promises are true.

Aaron was another son of Nephite King Mosiah,
He taught of the Creation, of the Fall and God's Son who would die
To save all men from death and sin, yea, Jesus, the Holy One,
Who would come to earth at some future day to save each and ev'ry one.

Omni and his brother Himnor were also Mosiah's sons,
But not much is recorded about their missions.
But they were faithful servants during all their trial filled days,
They taught many people how to walk in God's own chosen way.

Chorus:
I want to be like Mosiah's sons and share God's holy word.
I can be a missionary, a servant of the Lord.
I can be so very courageous, I can the gospel teach,
That all may know God's holy grace is within their loving reach.

By Stacey Plays Hymns. By Stacey Plays Hymns. Arranged by Anastace. Christian,Historic,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Anastace #966349. Published by Anastace (A0.1381714).

Here is the full piano vocal arrangement of The Harvest of the Earthâ€, as heard on my YouTube channel and requsted by listeners. Originally titled “See How Brown Autumn Spreads the Fieldsâ€, this song is so rare that I couldn’t find any music for it online, and therefore wrote a new melody and accompaniment for it that captures the the solemnity and anguish of the lyrics. It’s one of the songs of harvest off of my album entitled “Hymns of Autumnâ€, but doesn’t talk about harvest in the traditional sense we normally sing about these days.

Not many talk about the judgement of God in today’s church, and this hymn will send chills down the spine of the most devout believer as we realize the full spectrum of God's character, including His wrath and power on Judgement Day. I found this in an old hymnal that was so old that the “Sâ€s were still written as “Fâ€s, and I had to squint to read it while learning to sing for this recording. I hope this ancient and powerful hymn finds a place to minister to today's church and believers around the world, perhaps after a sermon on God’s judgement, or for a Lent or Advent service about repentance and turning to God, both individually and as a nation.

This version is in B Minor to match the original recording, and includes the full piano accompaniment as played in the recording.

Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site is a lead sheet version for those who prefer to play off a chart.

A beautiful vocal duet for tenor and alto. Words by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. Text: O, Savior of my soul: Make me whole, make me whole. Lend comfort to my mourning heart for errors I still owe. Pure penitence burns deep within; I implore thy grace. Let mercy claim my broken pledge as I seek thy face. O, trust my contrite plea: Set me free, set me free. As deepest anguish stirs inside, seek me searchingly. Consuming fire leaves no stain; cleanse my ev’ry thought. O, lead me to thy suff’ring side where I can be taught. O, my beloved child: I am here; I am here. Each mournful moment pardons fault, drying ev’ry tear. So blessed are they who grieve for sins; know my holy name. Remember I have giv’n my soul; that is why I came. O, child of my soul: Hear my voice, hear my voice. Sure comfort comes with strains of love; solace is my choice. My covenant assures thy peace, lending holiness, Then beauty for sweet ashes gives my eternal rest. Now I’m whole, I am whole; I can see thy face. O, now my soul is comforted in thy warm embrace.
