IMHO, he is much more brilliant as a painter, and his sister is the true genius poet!!! Christina's father emigrated to England from Italy in 1824. Consequently, all four children (Maria, Dante, William and Christina) spoke Italian at home when they were young. To my delight many of Christina's early poems are in Italian.
