Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1173849 Composed by Spencer Williams. Arranged by Dave Gingras and John E. Dosher. Jazz. Score. 3 pages. DAVID LEE GINGRAS #774000. Published by DAVID LEE GINGRAS (A0.1173849). Basin Street Blues is a song often performed by Dixieland jazz bands, written by Spencer Williams in 1928 and recorded that year by Louis Armstrong. The verse with the lyric Won't you come along with me / To the Mississippi... was later added by Glenn Miller and Jack Teagarden. The Basin Street of the title refers to the main street of Storyville, the red-light district of early 20th-century New Orleans, north of the French Quarter. It became a red light district in 1897. This version features a root-based chord blocking that John and I have used in a number of our arrangements. For interest and to keep the rhythm moving, we added some pretty cool left-hand fills. We hope you like what we've done with the song!

Piano,Vocal,Voice - Digital Download SKU: A0.955894 Composed by Traditional 16th century English folksong. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. Christmas,Contemporary. Score. 9 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6856893. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955894). What Child Is This? is a ‘Christmas carol’ with lyrics written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865, set to the tune of the traditional English folk song ‘Greensleeves’.  The lyrics are taken from his poem The Manger Throne.  The song What Child Is This? was first published in 1871 in Christmas Carols Old and New.  The tune ‘Greensleeves’ association with the festive season can be dated back to 1642; also Shakespeare refers to this popular tune twice in his famous play Merry Wives of Windsor.  This arrangement is scored for solo voice with piano accompaniment.  Performance time: 3:12. It is arranged with the awe and wonder (and perhaps confusion) the townspeople and shepherds experienced with the birth of ‘this child.’

Gorgeous melody we all know with the beautiful deep lyrics in this arrangement for your next vocal solo performance. The haunting minor melody shows off a Gaelic twist and slight variations in the 2nd verse. Without going too high, this piece shows off the soloist's upper range to a Treble F. Watch for the surprise ending with a Picardy third! Perfect for your next Christmas performance at church, community or choir events!
