This is a wonderful old comedy song.
I have put it into the key that Tessie O'Shea sings it (Ab major)
I have put in the first verse that Tessie sings, plus the spoken part. I have changed some of the words of the spoken part to update them.
I have then constructed a third verse from other verses that Le Clerq wrote. To sing it exactly like Tessie please repeat first verse.

This year (2019) marks the 50th anniversary of the most iconic music festival ever, Woodstock. Three days of love, peace and music August 15-18 (actually lasted 3 and 1/2 days) on Max Yasgur's farm in New York.There is a plan to have a celebration to mark the occasion. To commemorate this occasion, this is the first of many arrangements of the iconic songs of the festival that I plan to write. Whenever possible I will use the actually Woodstock recordings as the arrangement. This beautiful song by John Sebastian is the first song on the Woodstock Soundtrack triple album. John was the 4th performer on the second day. This is the third song in his set (according to Wikipedia). Bought Me a Cat, also known as the Farmyard Song, originated in the British Isles and is also a popular folk song in North America. Aaron Copland included the song as I Bought Me a Cat in his 1950 song cycle, Old American Songs. This version is arranged using big alpha note notation to assist beginners in identifying notes on the grand staff - but not all the notes have letters in them! Includes lyrics and solfege syllables.
