Knowing he has no choice but to punish her, he reluctantly takes her Godhood away, leaving her asleep on a rock, but surrounded by a wall of fire that only the bravest hero would dare to cross. In the third opera of Wagner's Ring Cycle this hero will be the pregnant Sieglinde's son, Siegfried. This edition includes the exquisitely beautiful and tender Der Augen leuchtendes Parr section as well as the majestic opening, Leb' wohl.
