Written by Ray Davies and released by The Kinks in 1968, this choral arrangement has been lovingly crafted to capture the essence of Kirsty MacColl's 1989 superb cover version, making great use of rich alto voices to harmonise and on occasion even sing the melody!
‘Days’ is an absolute classic to delight audiences and singers alike, and may be performed with instrumental ensemble or with the accompanying backing track audio. In 1994, Kirsty MacColl told James Bennett, I think my version is a bit slower [than the Kinks' original], I wanted to give it the ABBA treatment. I wanted people to think that it's a Kirsty MacColl song when they hear it.
