The song has been covered by several artists, including Rancid, NOFX, Boney M, Murder One, Joan Baez, Xavier Rudd, Jimmy Buffett, The Fugees, Sublime, Hugh Masekela and Gilberto Gil, musician and former minister of culture in Brazil. But only the ska punk band Spunge had permission from Marley's family to change the lyrics for their Room For Abuse album.
