Alto Saxophone Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.588377

By The Beatles. By John Lennon, John Winston Lennon, Paul James Mccartney, and Paul McCartney. Arranged by David McKeown. Rock. Individual part. 3 pages. David McKeown #5319399. Published by David McKeown (A0.588377).

When I’m Sixty-Four first appeared on the Beatles’ 1967 album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Despite the song’s appearance relatively late in the Beatles’ discography, it was one of the first songs that Paul McCartney wrote, at the age of 16. When the song was finally recorded in 1966, Paul McCartney felt it was too slow and turgid. George Martin simply solved the problem by speeding up the tape and raising the pitch by one semitone.

This version of When I’m Sixty-Four is arranged in a suitable key and range for solo Alto Saxophone.  Piano/Guitar chords in concert pitch are also included above the stave.

Musicians at an intermediate level will find this ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is around two and a half minutes.

Michelle by the Beatles, was released on the 1965 album, Rubber Soul. The story goes that when John Lennon was at art school he used to invite Paul McCartney to college parties. At the time, French art culture was fashionable, and Paul McCartney used to pretend he was French despite no knowledge of the language. Later John Lennon suggested Paul should write a song recalling those times. Paul asked a friend’s wife, who happened to be a French teacher, for help with the French lyrics.

This version of Michelle is arranged in the most suitable key and range for solo Alto Saxophone. Piano/Guitar chords in concert pitch are included  above the stave.

Musicians at an early intermediate level will find version of Michelle ideal for formal and informal concert performance. The overall performance time is a little over two minutes.

Yesterday is a song composed by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney), recorded in 1965 for the album Help!. According to Guinness World Records, Yesterday is the song with the most radio broadcasts worldwide, with more than six million broadcasts in the United States. Yesterday is also the most covered song in popular music history, with over 1,600 different interpretations. BMI claims the song was performed nearly seven million times in the 20th century. This was the first official Beatles composition recorded by just one member, Paul McCartney, accompanied by a string quartet. The composition is notably different from the other previous works of the musical group, which is why the other members did not accept that it was published as a single in the United Kingdom.

The Long and Winding Road is a song composed by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon/McCartney, recorded by the British band The Beatles on their 1970 album Let It Be. It tells the story that Paul wrote it inspired by the winding paths of the B842 road that connects the east coast of Kintyre to the city of Campbeltown, next to a McCartney family estate in Scotland. At the time he wrote it, in 1968, the Beatles were going through a phase of big fights. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 13 June 1970. This was the last single in Beatles history to reach number one in the US.

All My Loving is a Beatles song, composed by Paul McCartney (although it is credited to Lennon/McCartney) for the 1963 album With the Beatles.

It was one of the few examples of compositions where McCartney wrote the lyrics before the music; the text was apparently conceived as a poem, composed while he was shaving.

McCartney originally envisioned it as a country & western song, and it was written on piano during a rehearsal for the Beatles' tour with Roy Orbison; George Harrison added his Nashville-style guitar solo to the recording. Using the letter format in the song's lyrics, also used in P.S. I Love You.

Penny Lane is a song by The Beatles, written by Paul McCartney but co-written by John Lennon.
The song was recorded during the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, but released as a single on the B-side with Strawberry Fields Forever in February 1967.

Penny Lane is a song that refers to a street in Liverpool (as well as the neighborhood where it is located). The lyrics talk about the things and people of the place that was very important in the lives of the Beatles, mainly Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Today, at Penny Lane, many fans leave messages for the extinct group.

And I Love Her is a song originally recorded by the British band The Beatles for the album A Hard Day's Night, released in 1964 as the soundtrack to the film A Hard Day's Night. Composed by singer and bassist Paul McCartney for his then-girlfriend Jane Asher, it was one of the biggest hits for the Beatles, as well as for McCartney, who remembers the song to this day in his performances.

The song has been covered by several artists over the years, such as Bob Marley, Sarah Vaughan, Julio Iglesias and Diana Krall. In 1970, Brazilian singer Rita Lee recorded a psychedelic version of the song for her first solo album Build Up.
