Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.856197 Composed by Irving Mills and Nat King Cole. Arranged by Liz Garnett. Contemporary. Octavo. 4 pages. Liz Garnett #4280233. Published by Liz Garnett (A0.856197). This song was Nat King Cole's first major vocal hit. It is based on a folk tale his father used to use in his sermons, in which a buzzard takes various animals for a ride before throwing them to the ground and eating them for dinner. A monkey observes this, and goes for a ride, but surprises the buzzard wrapping his tail round the bird's neck and refusing to be thrown off.The song's rhythmic feel is both cool and dry. The laid-back swing feel gives a sense of authority in the way the monkey takes control of the situation, but the syncopations and chromatic licks also remind us that in folk tales, the monkey is the trickster, even when he's on the side of the righteous. The arrangement is designed to be suitable for barbershop contests (BHS system).N.B. This arrangement is notated in treble and bass alta (i.e. sung an octave higher than written) clefs.Vocal Ranges:Tenor: G flat 3 - E5Lead: B flat 3 - C5Bari: B flat 3 - B flat 4Bass: E flat 3 - F sharp 4www.HelpingYouHarmonise.com

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1007507 Composed by R. LaBanca. Contemporary. Octavo. 7 pages. R. LaBanca #3416041. Published by R. LaBanca (A0.1007507). This piece is based on text that I wrote several years ago. As a lover of the horror genre I have always had a fascination with the romantic creature known in modern culture as the vampire. I imagined in my mind the interaction between a mortal and an immortal creature. How would the mortal describe a romantic encounter with this creature that exists in the shadows, untouched by time? I used descriptive text to communicate the visceral details of this experience and make the listener create in their mind how the experience would have felt if they had experienced it. The encounter is intense, and painful but once it ends the narrator feels empty and only has a mysterious melody to keep as a memory. I set the text for treble voices because I felt that the close harmonies I could accomplish with voices in the same register would lend itself well to the imagery. The piece is lush and smooth when the text demands it and sharp and angular when the text calls for that sound. Once the interaction is over, the voices break off into an aleatoric section in which each voice sings the phrase Songs only bones can hear fading away into nothingness just as the text suggests the vampire moves into the velvet void.

Female choir (SSAA) a cappella - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q46578 Composed by Pascal Martine. This edition: choral score. Church service. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 3:30. Schott Music - Digital #Q46578. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q46578). Latin.Anyone who likes refined rhythms, razor-sharp articulation, lively melismata, and high soprano notes will certainly be in for a treat with the sacred choral composition Cantate Domino by Pascal Martiné. The Latin choral work for four-part a cappella women's choir is almost bubbling over with syncopes and tongue-twisting syllables on the one hand, and melismatic melody lines on the other hand. This a cappella setting for women's choir (SSAA) with verses 1-4 from Psalm 96 lives on the play of musical contrasts, with solemn unison passages that are reminiscent of Gregorian chant alternating with four-part melismatic sections and thus adequately following the work's textual content. A really 'groovy' piece of music!Anyone who likes refined rhythms, razor-sharp articulation, lively melismata, and high soprano notes will certainly be in for a treat with the sacred choral composition Cantate Domino by Pascal Martiné. Choral Choir (SSAA) - Digital Download SKU: A0.843718 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Debbie Warren. Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 7 pages. Keep Calm and Keep Singing #450402. Published by Keep Calm and Keep Singing (A0.843718). A fishing song from the North East of England, this became popular as the theme tune to 1970’s TV show When the Boat Comes In. However, there is also another melody (in the minor key) also believed to originate from the North East but which was collected by Cecil Sharp in Berkshire. I have combined both melodies giving one to the sops and the other to the altos. Each section then forms an ostinato accompaniment while the other is singing the tune. These “Dance†“Sing†notes although written as dotted minims are to be performed short and light – like bells. The song also works best with a slight northern accent – particularly the short northern ‘a’ vowel on the word Dance and in the phrase “When the boat comes inâ€. NB Although this is written for 4 parts the second alto is optional and the arrangement works just as well without it for SSA choirs. FREE resources are available (backing track, teach tracks) just email keepcalmkeepsinging@gmail.com with proof of purchase Easy Level Duration: 3'30.
