Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.768518 Composed by Camille Saint-Saens. Arranged by Roar Kvam. Christmas,Romantic Period. Octavo. 80 pages. KVAMusic Edition #6078597. Published by KVAMusic Edition (A0.768518). Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns (9 October 1835-16 December 1921) was a French composer, organist, conductor and pianist. He was a musical prodigy and made his concert debut at the age of ten. After studying at the Paris Conservatoire he followed a conventional career as a church organist, first at Saint-Merri, Paris and, from 1858, La Madeleine, the official church of the French Empire. After leaving the post twenty years later, he was a successful freelance pianist and composer, in demand in Europe and the Americas. As a young man, Saint-Saëns was enthusiastic for the most modern music of the day, particularly that of Schumann, Liszt and Wagner, although his own compositions were generally within a conventional classical tradition. He was a scholar of musical history, and remained committed to the structures worked out by earlier French composers. This brought him into conflict in his later years with composers of the impressionist and dodecaphonic schools of music; although there were neoclassical elements in his music, foreshadowing works by Stravinsky and Les Six, he was often regarded as a reactionary in the decades around the time of his death. He wrote the Oratorio de Noël (Christmas Oratorio) at the end of the 1850s and completed it in 1860. The first performanse was at the church La Madeleine in Paris December 1869. The work is dedicated to A Madame la Vicomtesse de Grandval. The work is originally scored for five soloists, soprano, mezzo-soprano, alto, tenor and baritone, mixed choir (except no. 4 which is for SSAA), harp, organ and strings (in this edition the choir has been transcribed for a SSAA choir). Texts in the Oratorio de Noël is drawn from the Old and New Testaments: (1. Instrumental).    2. Luke 2,8-14.   3. Psalm 39,1.   4. John 11.27.   5. Psalm 117, 26-28.   6. Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828165 Composed by Dorothy Heyward, Du Bose Heyward, George Gershwin, and Ira Gershwin. Arranged by Shelley Gray. A Cappella. Octavo. 7 pages. Shelley Gray #4639165. Published by Shelley Gray (A0.828165). For female a cappella chorus. My arrangement is based on the Jamie Cullum version, with it's cool jazz rhythms and wonderful instrumental lines. I have attempted to create interest for all voice parts and the leads certainly have a 'lead' role here with the opportunity to solo in the opening section. To make the most of the 'jazzy' rhythms I've included some body percussion too!For more information and to discuss teach tracks please contact me at shelleygray40@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774719 Composed by Alfonso Maria de' Liguori. Arranged by Sandra Milliken. Christian,Christmas,Classical,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Sandra Milliken #3676503. Published by Sandra Milliken (A0.774719). Tu scendi dalla stelle is amongst the oldest of Christmas songs in Italy. The original version was written in the mid-1700s in Naples by the Catholic Bishop of Sant'Agata dei Goti, Alfonso Maria de’ Liguori. At that time it was called Quanno nascette Ninno and was written in the Neapolitan dialect in the style of a pastorale. The song was later re-written in Italian by Pope Pius IX and thereafter it became famous as a Christmas carol all over the world.Originally containing seven verses, today’s performances of the carol in Italy generally include only the first two verses. Notable recordings and performances of the carol include those by Sergio Franchi, Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti. This arrangement features both Italian and English lyrics, with the English version being a very close adaptation of the original Italian. The carol may therefore be sung in either Italian or English, or a combination of both.Available in 2 Part and SSA, both with piano and optional descant/flute.Also available separately is an instrumental accompaniment for the SSA version, scored for String quintet and glockenspiel, with conductor's score. Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.923199 Composed by Denny Glasscock. Christian,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Denny Glasscock #6054113. Published by Denny Glasscock (A0.923199). A new and different rendition of a very old and beloved christian hymn. After an instrumental introduction, based on the refrain from the original hymn by Robert Lowry (1864), the newly composed verses begin with a musical theme meant to represent flowing water in a rippling river or stream. The original lyrics are adapted for all five verses and the refrain. The first verse is followed by the refrain, adapted from the original hymn. After that the refrain follows verses 3 and 5. The song ends on the final refrain, as the tempo slows and the flowing water theme ends. The vocals start out unison, but quickly divide out to SAB parts, all in a comfortable range. The melody in the verses shifts from soprano to alto, just before it gets too low for some sopranos. However altos or baritones could probably sing the melody, as the highest notes are likely still contained within their upper range. Thus the piece could be performed as a solo for altos or baritones. Though the melody shifts, a bit, from soprano to alto, it is easily heard in continuity. Thus, intuitively, the audience, or congregation, will clearly hear the melody, and be easily able to sing along. The score provided here, contains the SAB parts and piano (with chord symbols). As you listen to the example provided, you will hear a string trio playing in the accompaniment, along with the piano. The violin, viola and violoncello adds a nice dimension to the accompaniment sound. An accompaniment track is also available under item no. S0.870603. Denny Glasscock (Lyrics and Refrain adapted from Original Hymn by Robert Lowry, 1864).
