Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.893711 Composed by African American Spiritual. Arranged by KJ Murdock. Christian,Easter,Sacred,Spiritual,Standards. Octavo. 7 pages. Kristopher James Murdock #4410375. Published by Kristopher James Murdock (A0.893711). School choir directors, are you wondering how to celebrate American culture in song? Are you looking to reinforcing the ensemble's classical singing skills for contents and concerts?Church music leaders, are you looking for a unique way to share the faith, a change in style to draw attention to the Gospel in song? Are you looking for simple harmonies that your choir can learn more quickly than a complex arrangement? This moving neoclassical restyling of a beloved American Spiritual solves all of these problems. This song came from the hearts of African Americans who had been treated with extreme cruelty, but would one day emerge triumphant. In context, Were You There When They Crucified My Lord? shows their belief in the God who had empathized with their suffering by taking a cross, and who had conquered even death by rising victoriously from the grave.Although it’s great for any time of year, Were You There When They Crucified My Lord? is especially appropriate for the Easter season.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.905646 Composed by Anon / Daniel Steenson. Arranged by Daniel Steenson. Classical,Instructional. Octavo. 1 pages. Daniel Steenson #5310013. Published by Daniel Steenson (A0.905646). Beginning solfege singers! As you probably know, not all melodies lie between lower Do and higher Do. Many melodies orbit around their key note, Do. Relatively speaking, these melodies travel between a collection of pitches extending from lower Sol to upper Sol (Ex: Amazing Grace, Happy Birthday, the familiar theme from Brahms Symphony No. 1, 4th movement). Learning to hear and navigate these basic Sol-to-Sol tonal relationships is a vital step for students learning to sight-sing using the solfege system. Dona Nobis Pacem is a lovely melody that choirs enjoy singing in Latin as a warm-up for unified vowel formation, tonal focus and interdependent part-singing. You can find it online with the Latin text.  https://hymnary.org/text/dona_nobis_pacem_canon   Here is a version to link solfege syllables and reading skills for SAB singers. Sing using solfege hand symbols. Warm-up using my Sol-to-Sol exercise.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522227 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. A Cappella,Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #4408396. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522227). My Song Is Love Unknown is a known best as a hymn by Samuel Crossman, written in 1664. It is predominantly used as a hymn for Good Friday usually in a setting by John Ireland who evidently composed it over lunch one day. This is a completely new SSA setting of Crossman’s wonderful text by Colin Kirkpatrick. In this setting there are opportunities for alto solos though they can be sung tutti if more appropriate. The keyboard part is essential though there is an a capella section in the middle. The highest note in the soprano part is one A flat above the treble staff. This is an accessible arrangement with rich harmonies and soaring melodic lines. It is sure to be a success at Easter occasions. Other SSA titles in this series of three Easter canticles are “Alone Thy goes forth, O Lord (Text by Peter Abelard 1079-1142)†and “A Time to Watch, A time to Pray (Text by John Mason Neale 1818-1866â€. In the audio sample, soprano 1 is played by the flute, soprano 2 by the oboe and alto by the clarinet.

Published by Jon Arterton (A0.1368076). This popular Beatles song was first recorded in their 1965 album Rubber Soul. The arranger has created a simple prayer-like mood for the song that perfectly captures the beautiful lyrics: “There are places I'll remember all my life, though some have changed. Some forever, not for better; some have gone and some remain. All these places had their moments with lovers and friends, I still can recall. Some are dead and some are living - in my life, I've loved them all.†The SAB arrangement features a lot of alto divisi.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1267434 Composed by Robert Lowry. Arranged by Sandy McIntire. Christian,Folk,Historic,Multicultural,Renaissance,World. Octavo. 14 pages. Sandy McIntire #859995. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.1267434). HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, also known as MY LIFE FLOWS ON IN ENDLESS SONG, was composed by Robert Lowry who fit his lyric to an early American folk tune. First appearing shortly after the American Civil War, the hymn gained popularity over the next century. Pete Seeger revived the hymn in the 1960s, and it has continued to gain in popularity since then. Irish artist, Enya, recorded it in 1991 in her album, Shepherd Moons. This arrangement is for an INTERMEDIATE SAB (soprano, alto, baritone) CHOIR with a piano accompaniment. This haunting and nostalgic melody and harmonies will be welcome in both worship services and secular programs wherever music is loved.  A separate sheet for the voices is included along with the score.
