Choral Choir (SAT) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1274473 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Contest,Festival,Folk,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 10 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #866616. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1274473). This is one of the most popular and best-loved folksongs of all time, made famous by Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and many others. The song is thought to have originated over four hundred years ago. Scarborough Fair is in the Dorian mode and a song suitable for any happy occasion. Its celebratory quality would make it ideal for holidays, end-of-semester concerts, weddings or folk music events.Ā There are many different versions of the lyrics and by the end of the 19th century, dozens of variants existed. In this arrangement, four of the most popular verses have been used. The repeated chorus of ā€œparsley, sage, rosemary and thymeā€ is significant. In olden times, these herbs had medicinal purposes. In addition, parsley was associated with comfort, sage with strength, rosemary with love and thyme with courage.Ā Scarborough (SKAH-buh-ruh) is an English coastal town in the county of Yorkshire. It was occupied by the Romans during the fourth and fifth centuries but today has become the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast with a thriving fishing industry.Ā  In this arrangement, each section of the choir shares the melody and the voice parts avoid difficult leaps. All the vocal parts are safely within normal range. Your choir is sure to enjoy singing this rewarding arrangement.Ā This is scored for SAT choir and ideal for high school or college use where there are often fewer lower voices. The vocal ranges are Soprano 1: D4-E5; Alto: A3 (one note)-E5 (one note); Tenor: C3-D4.

Choral Choir (SAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1115690 By Maro. By John Blanda and Mariana Secca. Arranged by Ellie Pybus. Folk,Pop,Singer/Songwriter. Octavo. 4 pages. Ellie Pybus #717445. Published by Ellie Pybus (A0.1115690). This beautiful Portuguese folk song was made famous at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest. If you're not a fan of Eurovision, don't that that put you off from learning this song. The word Saudade's definition is 'a deep emotional state of melancholic longing for a person or thing that is absent'. It's arranged for an Alto trio or group, but would work with a soprano voice on the top line too. It's great for an English speaking choir wanting to challenge themselves with a different language. Enjoy! If you have any questions, feel free to email me on eleanorlpybus@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1263921 By Steve Stanfill. By Unknown. Arranged by Steve Stanfill. Contest,Festival,Folk,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 10 pages. Steve Stanfill #856823. Published by Steve Stanfill (A0.1263921). This is a SAB choral arrangement of an old Russian Folk Song May There Always Be Sunshine, the lyrics allegedly penned by a small boy in Soviet Era Russia. Ā Phonetic lyrics are given for the Russian portions of the music and it is not hard to pronounce. Ā The Russian to English translation is not literal (particuoarly in the first bridge), but reflects the true spirit of the piece. This piece is perfect for an accomplished Junior High or High School Choir, particularly as a closer. Ā The message of good will and universal wishes for a peaceful world are particularly poignant as a Russian folk song. Ā Mr. Putin, are you listening???
