Choral Choir (3-Part Mixed) - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1170258

By Hubert Gregg. By Hubert Gregg. Arranged by V.Firnberg. 20th Century,Folk,Historic,Singer/Songwriter,Traditional. Octavo. 6 pages. Virginia Firnberg #770612. Published by Virginia Firnberg (A0.1170258).

This upbeat 3 part choir and piano classic about London (UK) was composed in 1944 by Hubert Gregg who was a pre-war broadcaster for the BBC. It begins imaginatively by setting the scene with street cries from a London market accompanied by the piano. What follows is a rousing unison rendition of the song, (perhaps the audience could join in?), then a solo trio, and, with the addition of a counter melody, the piece comes to a close. The song tells the story of someone who is taking a walk in London and is in love with the place. I worked with 'The Three Valleys Male Voice Choir' to come up with the street cries, as some of them had been market traders back in the day.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 1 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.915660

Composed by Richard Joseph Barber. Christian,Holiday,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Barber Music Company #1985499. Published by Barber Music Company (A0.915660).

I Will Give Thanks unto Thee is a happy little piece for an inexperienced SAB adult church choir. I composed it for our Thanksgiving Sunday service when our adult choir was just getting established. It is easy to learn and to sing as well as to play for the accompanist. The soprano range is C4 to E5; alto is A3 to E5; bass is C3 to E4. The duration is about 2:04. Although I wrote this piece specifically for Thanksgiving, because we are always to be giving thanks to Him, this composition is really suitable to almost any Christian worship service. If you have any questions about this or any of my other compositions on SMP Press, please feel free to contact me at aspiringtunerrjb@sbcglobal.net.

Choral Choir,Choral (SAT) - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1290977

Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Advent,Christian,Christmas. 12 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #881667. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1290977).

This is a lively arrangement based on the traditional text. It's an English Christmas carol, which dates back at least to the 17th century. The reference to three ships is thought to originate in the those that carried the purported relics of the Biblical magi to Cologne Cathedral in the 12th century.

The joyful main theme is in 7/8 time and divides into 2+2+3. This is easier than it sounds because much of the piece consists of  four measures of 7/8 followed by a measure of 4/4. Singers will soon get to feel the rhythm and become familiar with this time signature. It’s scored for a fairly experienced SAT choir with keyboard accompaniment. The SAT voicing is ideal for high school or college use, where bass voices may not be available. In the reflective middle section, there are opportunities for solos, though they are optional. Audiences and singers alike are sure to enjoy this joyful music. The keyboard part is fairly straightforward though requires a competent pianist. It would be a great addition to your Christmas concert or service. (Duration: 02:50)

Voice ranges are well within normal high school range: Soprano C4-F5; Alto A3-D5; Tenor C3-D4. If you like this choral piece, you might also be interested in two of the other Colin Kirkpatrick Nativity Anthems in this SAT series (also available as SSA): And a Star is Shining in the East and Three Kings from Eastern Lands.  Both titles are available from the same publisher.

Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship. 12 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #886511. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1296267).

This is a lively arrangement based on the traditional text but a completely new melody.

It’s scored for a fairly experienced SAA choir with keyboard accompaniment. The SAA voicing is ideal for high school or college use, where lower voices may not be available. The arrangement has really been conceived for boy-choir or girl-choir. In the reflective middle section, there are opportunities for solos, though they are optional. Audiences and singers alike are sure to enjoy this joyful music. The keyboard part is fairly straightforward though requires a competent pianist. It would be a great addition to your Christmas concert or service. (Duration: 03.00)

Voice ranges are well within normal high school range: Soprano 1: C4-F5; Soprano 2: A3 - D5; Alto: G3- D5. If you like this choral piece, you might also be interested in two of the other Colin Kirkpatrick Nativity Anthems in this series: And a Star is Shining in the East and Three Kings from Eastern Lands.  Both titles are available from the same publisher.
