Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1151796

By Revelation & Restoration. By Kent. U. Händel and Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Kris Jim Murdock. A Cappella,Children,Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Octavo. 3 pages. Kristopher James Murdock #751995. Published by Kristopher James Murdock (A0.1151796).

This humorous piece is designed to keep SAB choir members interested (and to keep them guessing). Für Elise Toot (Who Tooted?) is by the fictional composer Kent U. Händel (a pseudonym for my wackier side), parodying Beethoven's well-known bagatelle and pairing it with lyrics based on a well-known limerick. (The final page also includes a disclaimer about Kent U. Händel's fictional background and an admission that he is, in fact, fictional, created in my own mind.).

Three Blinde Mice, Three Blinde Mice, Dame Iulian, Dame Iulian, the Miller and his merry olde Wife, shee scrapte her tripe licke thou the knife. ♫ The rhyme entered Children’s literature in 1842 as published by James Orchard Halliwell. ♫ It has been quoted in compositions by Robert Schumann (Kreisleriana #7), Joseph Holbrooke (Symphonic Variations), Franz Joseph Haydn (Symphony 83 – movement 4), Eric Coates (The Three Men), Leroy Anderson (Fiddle Faddle), Antonín Dvořák (Symphony No. 9 – movement IV Allegro con fuoco,) Havergal Brian (Fantastic Variations on an Old Rhyme), and possibly Sergei Rachmaninoff (Piano Concerto No. 4 – movement 2). ♫ This humorous version was written for a school choir, based on imaginary banter between between the farmer’s wife and her husband. ♫ This .pdf includes 3 files 1) the full score 2) vocal parts 3) full score - smaller size suitable for 10 inch tablet (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Angels We Have Heard on High with Away in a Manger for SSA choir with piano, trumpet trio, and Children’s Voices
♫ arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple
♫ French Christmas Carol (unknown composer and lyricist). The original lyrics of this song were French - Les Anges dans non campagnes. Our English paraphrase was created by James Chadwick in 1862. In the USA the lyrics are most often sung to GLORIA, arranged by Edward Shippen Barnes (1887-1958).
♫ Away in a Manger (author of lyrics for verses 1 and 2 unknown [earliest publishing known 1885] verse 3 by John Thomas McFarland (1851-1913) melody by William J Kirkpatrick (1895)
♫ This arrangement could be sung by a SAT choir instead of a SSA with some minor tweaking of the tenor line. The trumpets are optional, the sounds are also in the piano part. A soloist or soprano section could substitute for the children’s voices, but children love to sing the Gloria refrain.
♫ A grand old Christmas carol with the story told from the shepherd’s point of view.
