Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.726150 Composed by French Noël, 16th century. Arranged by Todd Marchand. Advent,Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 4 pages. Con Spirito Music #6735019. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.726150). O Come, Divine Messiah! is a hymn by Abbé Simon-Joseph Pellegrin (1663-1745), a French poet, playwright, and librettist who collaborated with Jean-Philippe Rameau and other composers. In addition to stage plays and opera libretti, his works included two collections of carols, published in 1708 and 1711. Pellegrin’s text for this hymn communicates the longing for a Redeemer by a world enslaved in sin, and is therefore appropriate for the season of expectation and preparation that is Advent. The tune, however - a 16th-century French Noël - is sprightly and cheerful, making this anthem especially fitting for the third Sunday of Advent - Gaudete Sunday, which derives its name from the introit for the day, Rejoice (Gaudete) in the Lord always.

Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522228 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #4408398. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522228). The text to this new SSA setting is by Peter Abelard, the medieval French scholastic philosopher, theologian and logician. The setting gives opportunities for soprano and alto solos though they can be sung tutti if more appropriate. The keyboard part is essential though there are two a cappella sections in the arrangement. The vocal parts all lie easily within average range. The keyboard part, with its plodding bass line (which may be doubled on double bass if required) gives the impression of the slow walk of Jesus to the Cross. This is a melancholy, reflective arrangement. Other SSA titles in this series of three Easter canticles are “My Song is Love Unknown†(Text by Samuel Crossman 1624-1683) and “A Time to Watch, A time to Pray (Text by John Mason Neale 1818-1866â€. In the audio sample, soprano 1 is played by the flute, soprano 2 by the oboe and alto by the clarinet.

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818178 Composed by R. L. Pearsall. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Philip Le Bas #5001259. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.818178). An arrangement by Philip Le Bas of the wonderful old German Christmas carol In Dulci Jubilo made popular in an English version by R.L. Pearsall (1795-1856), mixing English and Latin words, for 8-part choir and organ. Here the parts are reduced to three (soprano, alto, baritone) so that it can be sung by choirs for whom eight parts is too ambitious! Perhaps surprisingly, the carol retains much of its interesting counterpoint and tuneful lyricism; the arranger hopes that both singers and listeners will enjoy it equally.  1. In dulci jubilo Let us our homage shew: Our heart's joy reclineth In praesepio; And like a bright star shineth Matris in gremio, Alpha es et O!  2. O Jesu parvule, I yearn for thee alway! Hear me, I beseech Thee, O puer optime; My prayer let it reach Thee, O princeps gloriae. Trahe me post te.  3. O patris caritas! O Nati lenitas! Deeply were we stained. Per nostra crimina: But Thou for us hast gained Coelorum gaudia, O that we were there! 4. Ubi sunt gaudia, Where, if that they be not there? There are angels singing Nova cantica; There the bells are ringing In Regis curia. O that we were there!

Choral Choir (SAB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1132080 Composed by Philip Le Bas. Christian,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 7 pages. Philip Le Bas #732317. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1132080). An original setting, for SSABar choir and piano by Philip Le Bas, of Quiet Peace by Amy Carmichael (1867-1951), who worked as a Christian missionary among the poorest of the poor in India in the first half of the twentieth century. The poem is in the form of a prayer, and the music here has been been kept deliberately simple to perform, so that it canbe sung by a typical church choir. The piano here provides a constantly flowing ritornello throughout the verses, while the voices weave around it in a gentle wave of prayerful reflection. The poet feels an interior quiet peace while all around her there are storms and disquiet, because she knows that her Lord hears her voice. The setting is deliberately simple and undemanding, and it should be sung quietly, meditatively and without rushing. O Lord my heart is all a prayer, But it is silent unto thee; I am too tired to look for words, I rest upon thy sympathy To understand when I am dumb; And well I know thou hearest me. I know thou hearest me because A quiet peace comes down to me, And fills the places where before Weak thoughts were wandering wearily; And deep within me it is calm, Though waves are tossing outwardly. Amy Carmichael (1867-1951).
