Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.888139

By The Guess Who. By Burton Cummings. Arranged by Erin Craig. Contemporary. Octavo. 7 pages. Erin Craig #4574659. Published by Erin Craig (A0.888139).

This is a fun three-part treble arrangement of a classic rock tune! All the parts get a chance to sing the melody, and the choruses are a great place to learn to sing three-part triadic harmony. The rhythms provide a bit of a challenge to read, as there are many sixteenth syncopations, but they are close to the rhythms of the original recording and can easily be taught by rote.
This would be a challenging number for an accomplished childrens' choir to learn, and would work well for intermediate middle-school, high-school, and adult treble choirs.
This would be a great concert-closing number!

SKU: A0.1151796

By Revelation & Restoration. By Kent. U. Händel and Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Kris Jim Murdock. A Cappella,Children,Classical,Comedy,Contemporary. Octavo. 3 pages. Kristopher James Murdock #751995. Published by Kristopher James Murdock (A0.1151796).

This humorous piece is designed to keep SAB choir members interested (and to keep them guessing). Für Elise Toot (Who Tooted?) is by the fictional composer Kent U. Händel (a pseudonym for my wackier side), parodying Beethoven's well-known bagatelle and pairing it with lyrics based on a well-known limerick. (The final page also includes a disclaimer about Kent U. Händel's fictional background and an admission that he is, in fact, fictional, created in my own mind.).

We're here to help! taraislasmusic@gmail.com Lyrics: When I am gone, please let me go I have so many things to see, although, You must not shed too many tears, I plea But thankful for those years you've given me. I gave my love, and you can guess How much you've given me in happiness I thank you for the love each have shown But now it is time I travelled on. I travel on, I travel on, but my love for you will carry on. I travel on, I travel on alone, I won't be far away. So grieve a while, grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust It is only for a while that we must part So treasure memories in your heart. I travel on, I travel on, but my love for you will carry on. I travel on, then when you come this way alone, I'll greet you and say welcome home.

By Alan Wagstaff. By Alan Wagstaff. Arranged by Alan Wagstaff. Christmas,Country,Praise & Worship. 26 pages. Alan Wagstaff #118734. Published by Alan Wagstaff (A0.507484).

This is a country-style waltz, arranged for choir (SAB) and fiddle, harp and piano, which searches for the true meaning of Christmas. here is the lyric:

Crossed Out of Christmas

A Good Man was framed, on a bare, rocky hill;
it happened somewhere in the distance.
Though He paid a high cost, He was not double-crossed,
till the day He was crossed out of Christmas.

‘X’ marks the spot where a word is crossed out;
‘X’ marks the strange and suspicious.
‘X’ marks a treasure, without any doubt,
since the day Christ was crossed out of Christmas.

The shops and the super-stores tell us the news;
the signs. say that X-mas is here.
And the message is hurled, right around the whole world –
but something seems missing this year.

‘X’ marks the spot where a word is crossed out;
‘X’ marks the strange and suspicious.
‘X’ marks a treasure, without any doubt,
since the day Christ was crossed out of Christmas.

I want to re-write, on this parcel tonight,
a word that somehow came adrift.
Christmas! Christmas! Christmas! Lord God!
‘cos that is the true Christmas gift.

Christmas and X-mas ain’t one and the same,
and I guess there is only one reason.
So let’s do it right, and by starlight tonight,
we’ll unwrap the power of the season.

‘X’ marks the spot where a word is crossed out;
‘X’ marks the strange and suspicious.
‘X’ marks a treasure, without any doubt,
since the day Christ was crossed out of Christmas.
