Choral Choir (SSA) - Level 4 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.882280

Arranged by A. Douglas Biggs. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Adrian D Biggs #6620065. Published by Adrian D Biggs (A0.882280).

This arrangement of Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming takes a fresh look at the beloved 16th century Marian hymn. The familiar melody is now restructured into the gently asymmetrical 3+2+2 rhythm of a 7/8 meter. The music flows out, with that slight asymmetry giving an attractive lilt to the well-known tune. As with the rhythmic structure, the harmony is also reconsidered. Sonorities from related tonalities appear, providing new colors to enhance the well-known theme. The choral parts are attractive and singable, with a little alto divisi and each part having a turn at the melody. Suitable for an intermediate to intermediate/advanced choir. Since this is a digital realization, a Youtube link is provided to allow for view of the lyric along with music playback.

SAB chorus - early intermediate - Digital Download

SKU: C7.CGE329

Composed by Ruth Morris Gray. General. Sing! Octavo. 12 pages. Chorister's Guild - Digital #CGE329. Published by Chorister's Guild - Digital (C7.CGE329).

Gray's engaging setting of the Ella Wheeler Wilcox text is an excellent choice for concert, festival or music-themed performances. It is an upbeat response to the inevitable periods of sadness and strife that are part of the human experience. At those times when words are not enough, the song exuberantly begs, Sing to me! Sing to me!, expressing the power of music to heal the heart and touch the soul. The brisk energy of the accompaniment complements the memorable melodic lines, harmonies, and interesting dynamic contrasts. Teaching opportunities abound in this exceptional original for treble or mixed developing choirs.
