SSAATTBB choir (choir divisi) unaccompanied - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.1.3506-E Composed by Carol Barnett. 21 pages. Duration 4 minutes, 30 seconds. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3506-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3506-E). English, Latin. The composer writes: When asked to write a work for The Rose Ensemble's 20th Anniversary Season, I looked for a text that would resonate with this special occasion, perhaps something to help 'crown' the May Day celebration. But I kept coming back to music: 'Music, gift of the highest God,' music with the power to 'untune the sky,' music that refreshes and gives us strength, 'affording solace to all.' The music begins mysteriously with the John Dryden text split among the voices and ending with Alleluias. A sort of scherzo section follows, concluding with a declamation, The dead shall live, the living die, and music shall untune the sky. Then follows the setting of the Latin text of the title. The music is challenging, the textures interesting and varied. Duration: 4:30.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) a cappella - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q46995 Composed by Magdalena Zimmermann. This edition: choral score. Church service. Schott Chamber Choir. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 6 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q46995. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q46995). Latin.Magnificat by Magdalena Zimmermann for mixed choir (SSAATTBB) plays with harmony, rhythm and dynamics. The unexpected continuation of melodies by the voices, combined with shifted rhythms, engages the audience's attention until the last bar and results in a rich sound. With its soft and gentle ending, Magnificat as a prayer of Mary exudes, at the same time, a sense of calmness and gentleness. The work is rhythmically and harmonically demanding, which is why the singers need to be steady keeping beat and intonation. Once Magnificat has been rehearsed, it is suitable for concerts as well as Sunday services.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q7311 (In the Fields). Composed by Nikolai Andreyevich Roslavets. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Le poème Na poljach (Dans les champs) a été écrit par le poète russe Piotr Oreschin. Sans être difficile à chanter, la pièce produit son effet tant sur les interprètes que sur l'auditoire. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 2 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q7311. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q7311). Russian. In the days of Roslawez, the use of lyrical texts in Russian choral music was an exception. Traditionally, sacred liturgical texts were preferred in choral singing. Roslawez composed only a few choral works anyway, so this excellent cantabile piece is a real treasure. The poem 'Na poljach' (In the Fields) was written by the Russian poet Pyotr Oreshin. Little solo parts answered by the tutti, charming harmonies and a floating rhythm result in an Impressionist tonal image. The piece is quite easy to sing and will bring pleasure to both performers and listeners. Roslawez studied composition and violin in Moscow. He was among the leading figures of the musical scene in the 1920s. Treated more and more with hostility for political reasons and eventually barred from pursuing his career, he spent the last years of his life in poverty.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q46249 Composed by Katarzyna Danel. This edition: choral score. Distinguished Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 5:30. Schott Music - Digital #Q46249. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q46249). Latin.Almost 40 compositions, half of which written for accompanied and unaccompanied choir, can currently be found in the catalogue of works by the young Polish composer Katarzyna Danel (born in 1992). After winning several national composition prizes, she was awarded the 1st prize of the 13th International Composition Competition 'Musica Sacra Nova' 2016 for Misericordias Domini for eight-part mixed a cappella choir. The complex sacred a cappella choral work is based on the eponymous Gregorian chorale (Psalm 89:2). This Latin choral piece is characterized by three main structures: by aleatoric sound clouds in major pentatonic scales which are emphasized by sustained organum-like notes from the Gregorian chorale melody, on the one hand, by Renaissance-style polyphony combined with modern harmony, on the other hand, and finally, by long static chords merging in space and harmony. A wonderfully mystical, spherical composition which, by means of ad libitum passages marked in the musical text, even gives the performer the opportunity to interpret the piece individually.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) a cappella - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q24045 After the motet Lay a garland. Composed by Robert Lucas de Pearsall. Arranged by Tobias Brommann. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q24045. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q24045). Latin.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) a cappella - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q40422 Composed by Frank Corcoran. This edition: choral score. Distinguished Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 9 minutes, 30 seconds. Schott Music - Digital #Q40422. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q40422). English. The Irish composer Frank Corcoran already won several first prizes, such as for his English-language choral composition 'Eight Haikus' at the International Foundation for Choral Music in 2013. The almost 10-minute work for 4- to 8-part mixed a-cappella choir is based on eight secular texts written by Corcoran himself in the style of the famous Japanese haiku poems. In this shortest lyrical form of world literature which consists of only three lines, the composer born in 1944 uses a large variety of labials, sibilants and plosives and addresses socially relevant topics by means of simple descriptions of nature and seasons in a content-wise and musically figurative and almost mystical language.

Mixed choir (SSAATTBB) a cappella - advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q48010 Composed by Alwin Michael Schronen. This edition: choral score. Schott Choral Music. Downloadable, Choral score. Duration 3 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q48010. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q48010). Latin.Alwin Michael Schronen has long been known for his versatility and ability to compose works of varying degrees of difficulty. His setting of the Agnus Dei for eight-part mixed choir a cappella (SSAATTBB), which is more suitable for concert use despite the liturgical leaps in texture, represents a real, but extremely rewarding challenge for any concert choir. As it is bolero-like, this composition oozes completely split basses, therefore, providing an important, responsible foundation. The rest of the voices give this urgent, imploring character tonal repetitions, secondary parts, third-, fourth-, and fifths, as well as whispered or spoken passages to this extremely atmospheric piece of music. Eight parts, multiple key changes (F minor, F sharp minor, G minor) and the high note B'' in soprano 1, on which the longing for peace unloads, require an powerful and very intonationally-secure ensemble.
