Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.701450 Composed by Kevin G. Pace, Kathryn W. Hales. Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 2 pages. Kevin G. Pace #3124509. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.701450). An original hymn about Jesus's Handsl. Text by Kathryn H. Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/ChgLDDnpe90Long ago in an upper room, Jesus with hands of flesh and blood, Sat at supper, His last on earth, Blessed and broke the unleavened bread.   Afterward His loving hands Passed the communal wine-filled cup, Instructing his apostles there To partake and drink it up.   Then later in resurrected form He appeared in Nephite lands; In awe the people touched the wounds In the Savior’s outstretched hands.   They wondered at Jesus’s miracle Of providing water and the bread, Then sang in joy and gratitude As the multitude was fed.   Today I watched the priests’ deft hands Breaking bread upon a tray, Seeing in my mind our suffering Lord As His life He freely gave.   Bread and water blessed in His name, Reminders of hands nailed to a tree, Emblems blessed became sanctified, Gifts of love from Deity.

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.719769 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. 9 pages. Curtis Hanson #6069395. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719769). As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set include Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart, Just As I Am, and Savior, Again to Thy Dear Name. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.987122 Composed by Wayne H. Christensen III. Classical,Jazz. 5 pages. Wayne Howard Christensen III #484357. Published by Wayne Howard Christensen III (A0.987122). My how time flies. In 1984 I had my whole life ahead of me. Then I graduated high school, went to the U.S.A.F. Academy, and served a 26 year career as an officer and a pilot in the U.S. Air Force active duty and reserves. Now I look back and wonder where all the time went. I wrote this song to depict how I feel about getting to play the piano again at the ripe old age of 49 after such a long absence. For 26 years I did not have a piano so I did not think about playing. Then my mother in law gave me her piano and it was like reuniting with a long lost friend. I am grateful for any opportunity I have to play now. It makes me feel like I am 18 years old again with my whole life ahead of me. But then I have to wake up from my dream and get back to reality. (2015 Steinway/SMP Piano Contest).

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.886113 Composed by Jason McChristian. Arranged by Text by Walt Whitman. Concert,Contemporary,Folk,Patriotic. 26 pages. Jason Gary McChristian #238175. Published by Jason Gary McChristian (A0.886113). I. Germs - Referencing the idea of small details making up larger formations, as expressed in the Whitman poem, I created a brief gesture made of cascading pitches. This gesture progresses throughout the work and varies texturally and harmonically. II. Voices - This song features flourishes of arpeggios and flowing triplets signifying the joy expressed by the poem’s narrator. III. When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer - The narrator of this poem was not swayed by the lecturer’s sterile and purely academic approach to astronomy, but instead found wonder in the stars by simply gazing upward. This song begins with alternating couplings of fourths and fifths in the highest register of the piano, depicting the uninspiring calculations of the lecturer. Bell-like gestures mark a return to a more awe-inspiring and sincere fascination of the stars. IV. Thoughts - This final song conveys a musical sense of finality expressed in tits text. Utilizing quartal and quintal sonorities, this song takes on a patient and passive quality. As the narrator of the poem alludes to mortality, then finally states Death, the music becomes more chromatic, creating tense agitation. The passive quality returns quickly, however, and the work gently comes to a close.
