Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.775984). Brief Vibrations (2010) was written for and is dedicated to Jonathan Mark Roberts. The cycle comprises settings for unaccompanied voice of poems by Elisabeth T. Eliassen (b. 1961) from the collection Brief Encounters With Fluidity (2008). I. Kairos II. Stillness Sings III. Within the Embrace IV. Spring Rain V. The Vine VI.Vibrations Performance notes: These songs may be performed by any vocalists of any voice type or sex. They may also be performed in any transposition. However, all songs performed must be transposed in exactly the same manner. Though a performance of all six songs is highly preferred, smaller groupings or individual songs may be performed, particularly if the performance is not in concert. Throughout all songs, exceptional sensitivity, expressivity, and freedom is necessary to project a compelling performance. There should never be any sense of metronomic rigidity. The music serves to express and declaim the text, and this should be the driving force in shaping any interpretation.

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1031391 Composed by Words by William Shakespears Music by Ronald LO Ching long. Contemporary. 8 pages. Ronald #6691937. Published by Ronald (A0.1031391).  Inspired by the idea of representation in music to express my feeling, I started to compose this song cycle from the beginning of May to the beginning of June. In this song cycle, I aimed to spread an ironic message to reflect the loss of humanity of human using the poems about winter by Mr. William Shakespeare for text painting. The key of the featured song Blow, Blow Thou Winter wind is B minor. It portrays a cold and miserable feeling. The first phrase Blow, blow, thou winter wind shows a blowing effect especially in the work blow in the voice part. This makes the phrase more flowing. The second verse heigh-ho! Sing, heigh-ho! Unto the green holly describes a resonant sounding effect. The second phrase Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly criticizes the dark side of friendship and love, so the key changes back to minor, which serves as a contrast to the previous phrase. The main idea of this verse: this life is most jolly ends with a major to emphasize the description of numerous negative feeling with hope and joy.

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.886113 Composed by Jason McChristian. Arranged by Text by Walt Whitman. Concert,Contemporary,Folk,Patriotic. 26 pages. Jason Gary McChristian #238175. Published by Jason Gary McChristian (A0.886113). I. Germs - Referencing the idea of small details making up larger formations, as expressed in the Whitman poem, I created a brief gesture made of cascading pitches. This gesture progresses throughout the work and varies texturally and harmonically. II. Voices - This song features flourishes of arpeggios and flowing triplets signifying the joy expressed by the poem’s narrator. III. When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer - The narrator of this poem was not swayed by the lecturer’s sterile and purely academic approach to astronomy, but instead found wonder in the stars by simply gazing upward. This song begins with alternating couplings of fourths and fifths in the highest register of the piano, depicting the uninspiring calculations of the lecturer. Bell-like gestures mark a return to a more awe-inspiring and sincere fascination of the stars. IV. Thoughts - This final song conveys a musical sense of finality expressed in tits text. Utilizing quartal and quintal sonorities, this song takes on a patient and passive quality. As the narrator of the poem alludes to mortality, then finally states Death, the music becomes more chromatic, creating tense agitation. The passive quality returns quickly, however, and the work gently comes to a close.
