This is a simplified harp arrangement suitable for small harps of 15 strings or more.  Both hands are written in the treble clef.  Range is from Middle C up to Treble High A.  Can easily be adapted to fit harps of various sizes and strings.  There are no lever changes. This piece has a simple one note right hand melody, and an easy one or two notes per measure for the left hand.  Very playable for a beginning harpist, but chords could be added instead of single LH notes if a slightly more advanced arrangment is desired.  This lovely, gentle piece would be beautiful for background music, or for a church offertory or meditative music.  This piece can be played on any harp such as a Harpsicle, Aklot harp, Fireside harp, Waring harp, Roosebeck Harp, Lyon and Healy, Camac, Salvi, Venus, and any Celtic harp.YouTube video tutorial coming soon on our YT channel, Easy Harp Music 🎶.

The subtext for this movement is the feeling of land disappearing from under your feet, like what is happening to along the U.S. Gulf Coast.The piece provides the performer, teacher or student to explore syncopation, rolled chords, and harmonics.

The Highlander's Farewell to Ireland is a wire harp solo. Designations gut or nylon harp and Celtic harp are interchangeable; the gut or nylon distinction is made in pieces that call for wire-strung harp as Harp II in order to clarify the need for the two distinct sound colors. Harmonics are played where written. Fingerings are generally omitted except for damping suggestions in The Highlander's Farewell. This book contains only the score, with harp 1 and harp 2 on the same page. Page turns have been adjusted so they are as easy as possible.

As such, it should also fit the range of a Harp-E, Dusty Strings Ravenna 26, any of the Marini-Made lap harp line, Musicmakers Sonnet 29, or a number of Roosebeck Pakistani models.This in-world lullaby bookends the original 2010's movie franchise. And, while it's less dark than The Hanging Tree (which I reference musically), it has always felt to me inherently haunted by the violence it tries to soothe away. This recognizable theme from the 1993 film adaptation of The Secret Garden appears in several different tracks from the score, but most notably in Leaving the Docks and Showing Dickon Garden.I arranged the piece specifically for my 26-string Fullsicle Harpsicle harp, and it should fit on other small harp models with a similar range. But you can, of course, also play it on larger harp models (either lever or pedal), as well.Because the original version was a piano solo, I had to re-organize some of the left-hand chord structures to get it to fit the range of my small harp. But, even with this adaptation, I was able to keep it in the original key (two sharps, so D Major), meaning that owners of Sharpsicle Harpsicle models, and some Roosebeck Pakistani harps, should be able to play this piece, as well as Fullsicle Harpsicle model owners.There are no lever changes or extended techniques, but, at full-speed, the piece can prove much more challenging than it looks at first glance. In particular, I recommend practicing that quick, repetitive Alberti bass in the left-hand with a loose, exagerated oscillation movement to prevent tightness or injury. Also be wary of starting out at a speed that you can't maintain throughout the entirety of the performance. I like to think it gives spooky filmscore / Wednesday Addams vibes, with a neoclassical air, while still remaining very accessible to a less-experienced musician with a small, simple, or budget instrument.It is in the key of A minor (i.e. no sharps or flats) with no lever changes. It should also already fit the range of most common small harp models, including Harpsicle harps (even if your model has no levers!), Roosebeck Pakistani harps (it goes no lower than the F below middle C), Harp-E harps (it goes no higher than your high E), Dusty Strings Ravenna, Musicmakers Sonnet Lap Harp, and others. It can also, obviously, be played on any and all larger harp models.Played at full-speed, some of the turn-arounds in the right-hand, as well as the octave jump in the middle, can prove tricky (as you can see from my own playing in the video!). But played under tempo and more expressively, it could be accessible even to beginner/early-intermediate harpists, so long as you are learning to replace fingers and change directions.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. This is my simplified arrangement of Leaves from the Vine from the beloved animated series Avatar: the Last Airbender, as well as the more recent Netflix live-action adaptation by the same name. It is appropriate for beginner harpists working with an instrument as small as 24 strings, ranging from the F below middle C to the third F above Middle C (though the final verse of the song can be played an octave lower than written on smaller instruments). It is written in the key of B-flat Major with no accidentals or lever changes. As such, it could work on an instrument model without levers, so long as the instrument is tuned with Bs and Es flat. My own instrument is a Harpsicle Fullsicle Harp. But I believe it could also work, with few or no modifications, on a Harp-E, most/all of the Roosebeck Pakistani harp models, Dusty Strings Ravenna 26, or Musicmakers Sonnet 29. And, obviously, on any larger instrumentPlease note that this simplified version of the song for beginner harpists contains ONLY Leaves from the Vine and none of the medley themes in my more advanced version.I also, as mentioned, have a more complex arrangement of this piece, appropriate for intermediate harpists, published seperately.
