This is Hickory Dickory Dock as you have never heard it before!  It is arranged in a lullaby style.  The sheet music contains two sets of music.  The first has single notes only in the right hand.  The second version includes some rolled chords in the right hand.  Both versions used arpeggiated chords in the left hand. .

The piece is thou very simple and easy to perform.

It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp. 

When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher.

It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando.

You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul.

It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings.

When performed Live It will give you back a great  feedback from the public, you will always want to have it in your repertoire.

„Now comes the Little Story

The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest.

I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance.

I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. 

In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons.

In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself.  

The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. 

As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. 

I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its  melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe.

Elizabeth Sutherland's arrangement of Enya's beautiful piece, Lothlorien. This magical melody was inspired by Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, where Lothlorien is the Elven kingdom visited by the fellowship on their quest. This piece was written many years before Peter Jackson's famous films, demonstrating Enya's connection to Tolkien's world long before her other famous pieces used in the films such as May it Be.
This particular arrangement was written for Lever Harp, but is also suitable for Piano.

Aura Lea, published in Cincinnati before the Civil War began in 1861, became a favorite of both sides of the conflict to sing around campfires. It was performed by minstrel groups, glee clubs, barbershop quartets and radio stations. The U.S. Military Academy at West Point set new lyrics to the melody, renaming it Army Blue. The title morphed into Aura Lee along the way. It has appeared in movies and TV shows.

In 1956 Elvis recorded his version of the melody with new lyrics, naming it Love Me Tender. 

Harp I is playable on either Lever or Pedal Harps. Harp II is for Pedal Harp. The melody is evenly divided between parts.

 While all eight of these Celtic holidays may not be truly ancient, several of them certainly are; some, like Samhain, have had Christianizing veils cast over them but have kept many of the pre-Christian customs associated with their celebration. Interested harpists will find a wealth of available information about these holidays, their names, and their customs. 

Imbolc, February 1st or 2nd, is also the Feast of St. Bridget or Brigid and is associated with the ancient goddess of that name in Celtic mythology.

Ostara is the name sometimes given to the neo-Celtic celebration of the Spring Equinox. This piece depicts the dawn of the day and of the year.

Beltaine, the joyous celebration of spring’s warmth and wealth of flowers and new greenery, occurs on the first day of May. 

The longest day of the year and the shortest night mark the Summer Solstice-Midsummer. Since long before Shakespeare’s funny and lyrical play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Summer Solstice has been associated with magic.

Lughnasadh, on August 1st, is the festival of the first harvest. A version of the name of this festival survives in Manx and Scots Gaelic as well as in Irish Gaelic, and the name itself derives from Lugh, one of the most important Celtic gods

Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox and the end of summer; for me, it is a wistful moment of the year-extremely beautiful yet transitory.
Samhain is one of the most significant celebrations in the Celtic year- the word itself means the end of summer, the beginning of the dark part of the year. It survives even in non-Celtic countries as Halloween, thanks to its adoption into the Christian calendar as All Hallows’ Eve. It is said to be the  time when the veils between this world and the next are at their most thin.

The Winter Solstice is marked in many European cultures as a time for celebrating the birth of the new light and a time for decorating with evergreens like holly. For The Holly King, modal and traditional versions of the carol The Holly and the Ivy, were used because of the lyrics’ references to the rising of the sun, and the running of the deer.

This book is for a 12 string lever harp range from F4 - C6.  Also works for 15 - 27 string lever harp.  This is for someone who has not learned lever harp before.  Both left hand and right hand are in treble clef.  It has 30 basic exercises and 21 simple songs.  A few songs need levers to play.  Suitable for young learner and adult.  This is not for self learning unfortunately.  Explanation and demonstration are needed.  It is recommended that you have a teacher to show you how to play for a few lessons at the very beginning to avoid bad posture.  32 pages.  5MB.
