New Christmas repertoire for the pedal harp, transcribed from a collection by Davies Gilbert titled Some Ancient Christmas Carols.  First published in 1822, Mr. Gilbert's collection consists of eight carols he remembered from his childhood and arranged for two or three voices.  Verses to the songs are included in his manuscript as well as historical context and editor's notes.

This is a 4-page-long arrangement of the traditional English Christmas carol known as The Coventry Carol for 26 string (or larger) lever harp. It begins simply and quietly, but the arrangement becomes more complex as the melody repeats. It is categorized at an intermediate-to-moderately-challenging level of difficulty, as it uses the full range of the harp, explores multiple musical textures, and employes extensive lever changes. Both Harp-E and Rees Harpsicle Harp owners should be able to make it work, provided their instrument has a full set of levers.

Sulla Lulla is a beautiful Scandinavian lullaby with a haunting and compelling melody. It pairs well with the Coventry Carol, whose lyrics combine lullaby syllables with a reference to King Herod’s slaughter of the innocents. In addition to being lullabies, I hear these two melodies as laments. 

This pdf contains two versions: one for lever harp and one for pedal harp. In addition to pedal and lever change symbols, there are some slight differences in the arrangement so as to reduce lever changes as much as possible.
