It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp.  When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher. It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando. You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul. It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings. Luis Anjos Teixeira „Now comes the Little Story The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest. I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance. I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight.  In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons. In one of these dreams „Time and Matter were a byproduct of „Music itself.   The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies.  As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream.  I named it „The Volcano`s Lake, because the „Lake was comforting me with its  melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe. It is written in the tuning developed at that time by Yatsuhashi Kengyoo who was a famous performer and teacher of the koto. Hirajoshi, or hira-choshi tuning(choshi = tuning and hira = even, level, tranquil, standard or regular) is an adaptation of traditional Shamisen music.Although often heard with modern western harmonies I have chosen to use only the notes available in this pentatonic tuning. With a harp tuned to Bb major you can play this on the white strings of the harp, making it easy to improvise new left hands or interludes of melody by leaving out your C’s and F’s,This arrangement also includes a version transposed for harps tuned in C or F, to facilitate learning by folks who have not a full set of levers.The first verse is notated with alternating stems to indicate alternating hands. Use the 2nd (or 3, 4, or 5th) finger of each hand and play very close to the soundboard to imitate the koto. by alternating hands you can get close to the soundboard and still connect and phrase the notes by placing one finger before the previous one plays, Use your fingernails if possible - I just grow out the baby finger nails and use those fingers for a change!

This solo harp arrangement of Arrietty's Song from Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli's film The Secret World of Arrietty is wonderfully versatile, while preserving the key and overall character of Cecile Corbel's original piece. It can be played on a lever harp as small as 26 strings, with the lowest note being the C below middle C and the highest being the third G above middle C. It only requires one lever (the A below middle C) to be moved to effectively simulate the chorus key change. It captures both the iconic original celtic harp part, as well as the full melody (with Japanese lyrics taken into account), and also the building/shifting energy that the original piece achieved by adding additional instruments. I think it also successfully solves the problem of remaining interesting and dynamic throughout despite the song being so repetitive. In short, I am particularly proud of this arrangement.In part because it is so note-y, and because it just keeps moving with no room to rest or breathe, this is definitely one of the harder and more advanced pieces I have arranged for small/lap lever harp. It would still sound nice played under tempo, but you will need to maintain a consistent rhythm throughout. I advise practicing the left hand as blocked chords and paying particular attention to the right-hand octaves in the second rendition of the chorus.Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. This is an Irish traditional hornpipe and slip jig. A hornpipe is in a 4/4 time but with a different beat and swing from a reel. A slip jig is in 9/8 time so it feels like a 3 time. I have joined them together as they work well but one can play them separately from each other. The rights of man just has one relatively easy lever change (and a change back). One needs to be of an intermediate level to play these tunes well. The key is E-minor and with the small key change that means one needs levers on F and C. Piano players can also play these but will need to change the fingering.

This is a well known traditional Irish hornpipe. I have made a relatively easy arrangement for the lever (Irish) harp. Optional fingerings and dynamics have been added. One needs to be able to play octaves in the low register with an open hand. Some fingering is based on sliding. If one hasn't learned that one can change the fingering. Swing just means that a hornpipe is usually played with swing quavers rather than a dotted quaver semi-quaver pattern.
