Lever Harp - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1468124 Composed by Rachael Acheson. Celtic,Irish,Medieval,New Age,Renaissance,Video Game. Score. 3 pages. TheHarpLibrarian #1046434. Published by TheHarpLibrarian (A0.1468124). This is an original composition for small or beginner harp. I wrote it on a 26-string lap harp, but the range (from the C below middle C to the C above middle C) would fit a harp as small as 22 strings. It is written in A minor, with no sharps, flats, or other lever changes. As such, this piece should be playable on pretty much any standard small or lap harp, regardless of whether it has levers.Suggested harp models include Harpsicle Harps, Dusty Strings Ravenna 26, Musicmakers Sonnet 29, Fireside Harps, Marini Made lap harp models, Roosebeck Pakistani harps, Heartland Harps Air Serenity, Harp-E harps, and so on.The piece was composed to cheer up a fellow harpist who is still at the beginning of their harp journey. It is meant to invoke a medieval castle, and, as such, could be the perfect piece to take to a renaissance fair, an outdoor wedding, a larp-ing event, or perhaps on vacation with you, if you plan on touring any old castles with your small/lap harp in tow and trying out the acoustics. The song is appropriate for beginner harpists. You may need to practice replacing in a few places to avoid buzzing. But the piece only ever requires you to place in one direction at a time and minimizes the amount of time both hands play simultaneously. You can play it slower than I do in the recording, if you choose, and it should still sound nice. Please note that the preview cuts off after the first few measures of score. When you download your purchase, you will recieve a pdf that contains both the preview and the full score.

Lever Harp - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1380924 Composed by Rachael Acheson. Classical,Film/TV,Halloween,Medieval,Spiritual. Score. 3 pages. TheHarpLibrarian #965699. Published by TheHarpLibrarian (A0.1380924). This is my first original composition for small solo harp. I like to think it gives spooky filmscore / Wednesday Addams vibes, with a neoclassical air, while still remaining very accessible to a less-experienced musician with a small, simple, or budget instrument. It is in the key of A minor (i.e. no sharps or flats) with no lever changes. It should also already fit the range of most common small harp models, including Harpsicle harps (even if your model has no levers!), Roosebeck Pakistani harps (it goes no lower than the F below middle C), Harp-E harps (it goes no higher than your high E), Dusty Strings Ravenna, Musicmakers Sonnet Lap Harp, and others. It can also, obviously, be played on any and all larger harp models.Played at full-speed, some of the turn-arounds in the right-hand, as well as the octave jump in the middle, can prove tricky (as you can see from my own playing in the video!). But played under tempo and more expressively, it could be accessible even to beginner/early-intermediate harpists, so long as you are learning to replace fingers and change directions. Please note that the preview cuts off after the first half-page of score. When you download your purchase, you will recieve a pdf that contains both the preview and the full score. Also note: If the preview shows a 4/4 timing, this is a software rendering error. I have already uploaded a new pdf with the correct preview, in 3/4 waltz time. But know, in the meantime, that the actual, full score itself is, and has always been, rendered correctly in 3/4 timing.

Harp - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1018894 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6056121. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018894). Programme Notes: Icarus Also Flew takes its title from the first line of the poem Failing and Flying by Jack Gilbert. He is referring to the classical myth of Daedalus and Icarus, an inventive father and son who bravely escape from their imprisonment in a tower by collecting the disposed feathers of seabirds, then fashion wings out of them and fly away. While the story is often treated as a morality tale--listen to your elders, don’t get cocky like the young man, Icarus, who, in such an understandable state of elation, ascended too close to the sun thus causing the wings to melt and his tumbling to his Mediterranean death--what Jack Gilbert reminds us is how regardless of one’s failure, the sheer transcendental experience of mortal flight remains glorious and unforgettable. Icarus’s fall was not into a legacy of disdain and oblivion, but in truth, he had come to the end of his triumph. This piece was the first of a series I composed during the Covid-19 quarantine conditions of 2020, to serve as potential contemporary preludes for each of Ludwig van Beethoven’s nine symphonies--his two hundred and fiftieth anniversary was this year!--though they can all stand on their own on any program. The connection, in this case, is with his celebrated fifth symphony in C minor--the Fate symphony, as it is commonly known. I’ll let the listener find their own connections.About the Composer:Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

Harp - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797416 Arranged by Ray Pool. Folk,Traditional. Score. 19 pages. Afghan Press Music for the Harp #4835855. Published by Afghan Press Music for the Harp (A0.797416). A combined arrangement for harp trio of the American folk songs Shenandoah and Old Virginia (a reel whose melody is very similar to Flowers of Edinburgh). The melodies are each stated in solo versions in a medley and then combined in an overlay. The entire arrangement is in the key of C major with no accidentals. Harp 1 (advanced) plays the melody of Shenandoah in octaves along with other harmonic additions, also carrying the fast paced melody line of Old Virginia in a single solo line divided between the hands. Harp 2 (intermediate) plays the accompaniment for both tunes using various patterns of both triad and seventh chord harmony. Harp 3 (introductory) plays a harmonic reinforcement to Harp 2 in quarter, half, dotted half and whole note intervals. While Harp 3 is optional, it is still an important part of the arrangement. The set includes individual parts for Harp 1, 2 and 3 and a full score for the conductor.Table of Contents:Shenandoah and Old Virginia

Harp - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797438 Composed by Charles Francois Gounod. Arranged by Mitch Landy. Classical,Concert,Halloween. Score. 9 pages. Afghan Press Music for the Harp #4845569. Published by Afghan Press Music for the Harp (A0.797438). Originally a piano piece, part of a Suite Burlesque, this piece became familiar to many of us as the theme from the weekly tv show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents. It is a mock funeral march, with a contrasting heroic middle section. The only difficulty is at the end: originally too chromatic altogether, it has been rearranged, but it includes some quick and precise pedalling: C-sharp-natural-flat. This can best be managed by a staccato technique followed by a pedal slide, all in keeping with the character of the piece.

The songs are very accessible and appropriate for mid-beginner to intermediate players with limited or easy lever changes.

Lever Harp - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1500755 By Nino Rota. By Eddie Snyder, Larry Kusik, and Nino Rota. Arranged by Cara Smuts, Carrie Tollett, and Kevin Smuts. Film/TV,Romantic Period. Score. 5 pages. Learning the Harp #1076835. Published by Learning the Harp (A0.1500755). This rendition of A Time for Us is a beautiful performance piece that displays the full range of the harp! It sounds very impressive to play and creates such a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. In this piece you’ll get practice with lots of 4-finger arpeggios between the two hands, jumping between registers, series of octaves and 10th intervals, many lever changes and some glissandos. If you learn along with the Video Course, Carrie will show you how to go beyond just playing the notes on the page by sharing tips on how to bring out the melody line so it sounds musical and doesn’t get lost among the many notes. She’ll also show you exactly how to practice those lever changes so that they feel controlled and predictable rather than rushed and frantic! This piece is challenging but so rewarding to play.Difficulty Level and Skills Required: Late-Intermediate. The right hand often plays the melody line and sometimes serves as a continuation of the left-hand accompaniment. The right hand also handles the quick placement of rolled chords under the melody and series of octaves. The left hand consists of 10th intervals, jumps between registers, and executes more challenging cross-under passages. Together, the two hands perform continuous placements, arpeggios, glissandos, and numerous lever changes.Type of Harp: For big harps, 34 strings or larger.Range: The lowest note is D almost two octaves below middle C, and the highest note is A two and a half octaves above middle C.Levers/Pedals: In the key of G major (F levers set to F sharp). Many F lever changes throughout.

Laura masterfully uses a variety of textures and colors to create a sparkling musical collage that imitates the petite beauty of the night-blooming jasmine flower. Lever Harp - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1401640 Composed by Rachael Acheson. 21st Century,Contemporary,New Age,Spiritual. Score. 2 pages. TheHarpLibrarian #984816. Published by TheHarpLibrarian (A0.1401640). Aries are fiery, competitive, independent ... and also the most likely of all the zodiac signs to sing that school-yard na na na NA na song to your face when they win. This is a short, 1-page original sketch for small harp, with a range from the F below middle C to the second B above middle C. It is written in A minor (aka no sharps or flats) and includes no accidentals. As such, it should fit pretty much any standard model of small harp with zero modifications, including any model of Harpsicle Harp (even the ones without levers), Roosebeck Pakistani harps, Harp-E, Musicmakers Sonnet 29, or Dusty Strings Ravenna 26.Because you will need to silence each chord immediately after playing to get that sharp, abbrasive, almost staccato sound from my video (something I didn't have the tools to notate fully in the score), this song is trickier than it looks and is not really a new beginner piece, despite the simple notation. Beginners are, of course, welcome to try playing it exactly as written. But you should know that it will not sound exactly the same. Please note that the preview cuts off after the first line of score (as this composition is so short). When you download your purchase, you will recieve a pdf that contains both the preview and the full score.
