By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by Doctor JerBear. Rock. Score. 6 pages. Doctor JerBear #6658633. Published by Doctor JerBear (A0.1002650).
This is an arrangement of the Christmas Classic Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer for clawhammer banjo.
Although I listed as intermediate, it is really more beginner/intermediate. It uses mostly bum ditty, hammer ons/pull offs with open strings, and some simple drop thumb patterns. The whole song stays in the first five frets. But I marked it as intermediate because it uses a variant of Cumberland Gap tuning, and the tempo is rather fast.
It is a great tune for learning just how much one can produce with basic clawhammer techniques in Cumberland Gap tuning.
