Dulcimer,Instrumental Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1496379 By Jethro Tull. By Ian Anderson. Arranged by Jaymie Maham. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk,Rock. Individual part. 7 pages. Jaymie Maham #1072948. Published by Jaymie Maham (A0.1496379). Arranged for mountain dulcimer in standard DAd (1-5-8) tuning. No extra frets required. Because of a few sixteenth note embellishments, I'm setting the suggested skill level at Intermediate to Upper Intermediate and above. However, if you enjoy this tune, it's a good one to stretch your abilities. (read below)This progressive rock classic is great fun to play. Use of power (barre) chord shapes in most measures really help to simplify finger positions. Once the chord shape is in place, other notes in the measure can be quickly flatpicked by just repositioning the thumb. Makes what sounds like a very challenging piece much easier to approach. If you're a Jethro Tull fan, you know that this is one of those songs that really sticks in your noggin. The old axiom, if you can sing it, you can play it holds true. Familiarity with the lyrics can help make this piece manageable for all levels of Intermediate player. Included in this packet:~DAd dulcimer tablature~Lead sheet standard notation~Complete lyrics~Accompaniment chords~Notes on finger positions A YouTube demo video will be uploaded soon.

Dulcimer (mountain) - Beginning-Intermediate - Digital Download SKU: M0.98423EB Two Song Catchers in the Kentucky Mountains 1914 and 1916 - Appalachian Dulcimer. Composed by Ralph Lee Smith. Arranged by Ralph Lee Smith with Madeline MacNeil. Dulcimer: Mountain, Folk. Old Time. E-book. Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music #98423EB. Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music (M0.98423EB). ISBN 9781609742645. 8.75x11.75 inches. This book provides 20 beautiful Anglo-American folk songs, field-collected by two remarkable real-life song catchers, Josephine McGill and Loraine Wyman, in the Cumberland Mountains of Kentucky in 1914 and 1916. Josephine and Loraine, the latter accompanied by Howard Brockway, a composer and arranger, were among the first persons to search for folk songs in the Southern Appalachians. The musical adventurers traveled hundreds of miles on horseback and on foot through an inaccessible world to which radios, roads and cars had not yet come. They made friends in isolated log cabins, and transcribed some 200 song treasures, some of which they published in complex arrangements in books that are now out of print and rare. This book contains a selection of the songs, presented with simplified musical notation, guitar chords, and dulcimer tablature. It also includes glowing accounts of their mountain adventures, published by Josephine and Howard in long-forgotten publications; a must for all lovers of American folk music.

Both G and C arrangements make use of the 1+ fret.Suggested skill level is Advanced Beginner in D. Arrangements in G and C are more suited to Intermediate players. Included in this packet:~Tablature in all 3 keys~Lead sheet standard notation~Accompaniment chords~Suggested strum pattern~Complete lyrics**LYRICS ADVISORY**Please keep in mind that is a comedic/parody song in the southern gospel swing style.Although the lyrics are not explicit, a few of the verses are a bit irreverent. You may best remember this song from the movie, Cool Hand Luke. Actor Paul Newman's character, Luke, plays a rather meloncholy version of this tune while he is in the jail workhouse. Newman actually learned to play the banjo expressely for that scene. I ended up scouring several banjo/bluegrass websites while researching this song. I found that there are a BUNCH of added verses and choruses with ambiguous origins that have become popular with performers over the years. I have included them for you on the final pages of the packet. The original lyrics appear in bold print in the text box at the beginning of the page. The variations follow and are labeled as alternates. A video demo link will be added soon...

Dulcimer,Instrumental Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1503284 By Smash Mouth. By Greg Camp. Arranged by Jaymie Maham. 20th Century,Contemporary,Film/TV,Pop,Rock. Individual part. 9 pages. Jaymie Maham #1078767. Published by Jaymie Maham (A0.1503284). Arranged for mountain dulcimer in standard DAd (1-5-8) tuning. The 1+ fret is required. *There are two measures where the 8+ fret is indicated, but an alternate fingering is included for those without it.Suggested skill level is set at Intermediate to Upper Intermediate and above. NOTE:The overall beat of this song is fairly moderate, but after verse one there are a lot of notes added in to match the wordy lyrics. It is a bit deceptive because it sounds like the pace really kicks up at verse 2, but in reality, the beat stays the same...there are just more strums. This works in the player's favor. For the most part, you can hold the same chord shape for many of these measures with your fingers and use your thumb to bounce around to grab the extra notes. It makes it sound like you are working harder than you are.**This is one of those songs that the axiom if you can sing it, you can play it really holds true.Included in this packet:~DAd dulcimer tablature~Complete lyrics and reading order~Lead sheet standard notation~Optional instrumental interlude~Accompaniment chords~Alternate finger positions for no 8+ fret A YouTube demo video for this song will be uploaded soon.
