SKU: A0.1492561

Composed by Thomas Moore. Arranged by Alex Nunes Rodrigues. Folk. 2 pages. Alex Rodrigues #1069240. Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492561).

The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834, and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna.

This sheet music has been adapted for voice and piano, preserving the original melody true to the composition by Moore and Stevenson. The piano arrangement has been simplified to provide an accessible experience for music teachers who, even without extensive piano skills, wish to accompany their students. This arrangement maintains the melodic and emotional essence of the piece, offering a version that honors its traditional nuances while making it approachable for beginner to intermediate musicians.

The Last Rose of Summer captures the essence of melancholy and the passage of time—universal themes reflected in the farewell to the last vestige of a vibrant summer. The melody, paired with Moore’s poetry, evokes a profound sense of loss and longing, with the solitary rose serving as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life and the seasons. The simplicity and beauty of this piece have made it a classic, both in literature and music, perpetuating Irish tradition and touching the hearts of listeners worldwide.

Composed by Jacques Offenbach. Arranged by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo. Opera,Romantic Period. 6 pages. Nicole Elyse DiPaolo #5306351. Published by Nicole Elyse DiPaolo (A0.799618).

The first of its kind, this is a customized La Duchesse-only audition cut of Vous aimez le danger...Ah! que j'aime les militaires from Jacques Offenbach's La Grande-Duchesse de Gérolstein (1867). In the past, singers wishing to audition for this role would have to make a series of awkward cuts to eliminate the gaps created by the choral parts when performing this excerpt. The current edition omits those passages and, as a result, noticeably reduces the page count. In addition, this new engraving is remarkably clearer than the existing vocal score, which has deteriorated from age and is cluttered with instrumental cues that may not be relevant to a sight-reading audition pianist.

The piano reduction itself has not been simplified or drastically altered (at the commissioner's request), although the engraving features minor changes from the original edition (for example, eliminating cross-staff chord notation and inserting a few logical enharmonic respellings).

By Stephen Schwartz. By Stephen Schwartz. Arranged by W. Brent Sawyer. Broadway. 9 pages. Diamond S Music #3553685. Published by Diamond S Music (A0.790033).

ALL GOOD GIFTS from the musical GODSPELL. VOCAL SOLO in the KEY OF G (for Alto Voice) with piano accompaniment. This is a pop contemporary arrangement of the song from the beloved popular 1970s musical. The arrangement is similar in style to the original with a more modern take to it. The hymn is predominantly used as a hymn to give thanks to God for the harvest and it has also been used in the United States as a hymn for Thanksgiving. In 1862 in England, Jane Montgomery Campbell translated the original German poem by Matthias Clauduis into English. She translated Wir pflÑŒgen und wir streuen into English as We Plough the Fields and Scatter. The hymn was later published in Charles Bere's Garland of Songs and Children's Chorale Book. And Stephen Schwartz used these lyrics for his setting that was used in GODSPELL. GODSPELL was made into a motion picture in 1973 and has had several revivals in NYC and around the world, the most recent Broadway revival was in 2011.

This arrangement is available in the KEY of A (for Mezzo Soprano or Bass Voice), KEY of C (for Soprano or Baritone), KEY of D (for Tenor Voice), KEY of G (for Alto Voice).

Al tribunal d'amore is a mezzo-soprano aria from the opera Il Farnace, composed by Antonio VIVALDI (1678 – 1741). The realization of the aria for voice and piano, made by Sergei Pichugin, is based on the score manuscript of the late version of Il Farnace from 1738. The music of the aria was largely borrowed by composer from the aria of the same title from his earlier opera L’Atenaide (1729); its score manuscript is written in in E flat major and contains significant textural and rhythmic differences (e. g., common time signature) from the late version of Il Farnace. The aria may be an invaluable addition to the repertoire of vocal teachers and students.
