Alto Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1096313 Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Singer/Songwriter. 4 pages. David Warin Solomons #700277. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.1096313). This manuscript is the origin of the flute and guitar piece To Marie ( https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/19984390?aff_id=175705 ). It has not been notated on computer, and not yet recorded, but I present it here just for interest. As you can see, it takes advantage of the many puns available on the French phrase for weeping willow. It is addressed to the poet Marie Keyser. The references to Chatterton, Enderby and Buddenbrooks relate to Marie's studies in German literature, in particular Chatterton's suicide. To Marie Sad soul, why don't you weep in company? Saule pleureur, seule pleureuse Why luxuriate in your nomadic liturgy? Saoule pluvieuse, seule pleureuse. The others do not seek to understand The power that holds you ever banned Sales pleurs de sel pluvieux A unicorn has carried off your innocence Saule pleureur, seule pleureuse But no ambition comes to conquer indigence Saoule pluvieuse, seule pleureuse. So on you wander, homeless poetess, Begging shelter for your misconstrued distress Sales pleurs de sel pluvieux. Hold down a job, my girl, hold down a job from nine to five. Souple leurre s'il le peut To keep you happy, settled and alive Saule pleureur For this short time - day in day out Forget you do not know what life's about Sales pleurs de ciel plus vieux. And then, when evening comes, too tired Saule pleureur, seule pleureuse. Your sad old inspiration all expired Saoule pluvieuse, seule pleureuse. You will cease to understand the power that held you forever banned. Souple leurre s'il le peut. No, in the name of Chatterton and Enderby! For who could wilful poetry's defender be? Long live poor Buddenbrooks and poor Marie With mind or body hopelessly at sea. Saules pleureurs, seuls plus vieux.

Alto Voice,Vocal Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.995980 Composed by Dave Flippo - music, Marie Yuen- lyrics. Baroque,Jazz. 6 pages. David William Flippo #4766491. Published by David William Flippo (A0.995980). Sung by: Duenna     An argument for love of a more autumnal inclination among those who know what to do with what they've got. Style: Elegant classical aria with dance section.  Piano / Vocal Score. From Roxane of Bergerac - A full length musical -  A romantic action-comedy date musical about Roxane's refusal to be merely decorative when it comes to living her life, and this while questing for True Love and her Hero of True Romance.   The musical language is a blend of Jazz and Renaissance musical styles that parallels the mash-up of today’s slang with the preciosity (refined speech) of some 16th century Parisians.
LOVE IS WASTED ON THE YOUNG - from "Roxane of Bergerac" - a full length musica.

Published by Alex Rodrigues (A0.1492550). The Last Rose of Summer is a work deeply rooted in Irish culture, originally penned as a poem by the renowned poet and composer Thomas Moore in 1805. Moore, regarded as Ireland’s national poet, was inspired by an 'Old Blush' rose while staying at Jenkinstown Castle in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The poem was published as part of his Irish Melodies collection between 1807 and 1834, and later set to music by fellow Irishman John Stevenson. The song gained widespread popularity and was incorporated into the opera Martha by the German composer Friedrich von Flotow, which premiered in 1847 in Vienna. This sheet music has been adapted for voice and piano, preserving the original melody true to the composition by Moore and Stevenson. The piano arrangement has been simplified to provide an accessible experience for music teachers who, even without extensive piano skills, wish to accompany their students. This arrangement maintains the melodic and emotional essence of the piece, offering a version that honors its traditional nuances while making it approachable for beginner to intermediate musicians. The Last Rose of Summer captures the essence of melancholy and the passage of time—universal themes reflected in the farewell to the last vestige of a vibrant summer. The melody, paired with Moore’s poetry, evokes a profound sense of loss and longing, with the solitary rose serving as a metaphor for the fleeting nature of life and the seasons. The simplicity and beauty of this piece have made it a classic, both in literature and music, perpetuating Irish tradition and touching the hearts of listeners worldwide.
