OLD 107th was composed by Louis Bourgeois, a French musician known for his contributions to the Genevan Psalter, a hymn and prayer book created under the supervision of John Calvin for use by the Reformed churches in Geneva in the sixteenth century. This arrangement is for an INTERMEDIATE STRING TRIO, two violins and cello or violin, viola and cello. The tone and timbre of these instruments capture the sound of a medieval choir as the voices move in independent phrases then blend into modal and minor chord progressions. This anthem is an outstanding choice for worship or secular services. It is also appropriate for solemn evening or memorial services as a processional prelude or postlude. One theory suggests Haste to the Wedding derives from a tradition in County Donegal, Ireland, where it was played as the bride marched from her home to the church on her wedding day. Haste to the Wedding was played during Queen Victoria's wedding to the thousands waiting outside the chapel for the queen's arrival. Eternal Father, Strong to Save is the name of the poem set to the music of John Bacchus Dykes called Melita after the island of Malta where Paul was shipwrecked. The lyrics (not included here) and the music have strong associations with sailors and seafarers, particularly the navies of the United States and Great Britain and is also known as the Hymn of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, the Royal Navy Hymn, and the United States Navy Hymn. Often played at funerals and memorial services, it was included in funerals of Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Richard Nixon, and  John F. Kennedy. .

This American Christian hymn is taken from William Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), a shape note hymnal. The lyrics of the hymn were first published in 1811 and the melody is older with sources referring to various origins. Each of the four iterations builds on the melody. The second and third are variations in baroque style. A score and single sheets for each instrument are included. This arrangement is appropriate for Lent and Easter holidays, and its modal key and rhythm make it particularly appropriate for a processional or memorial piece.

Ebenezer is arranged here as an Intermediate String Trio for First and Second Violin and Cello. The second violin part is also suitable for Viola.
