Originally released in 2001 by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Murder On The Dancefloor was the British singer-songwriter's biggest single and one of the songs that catapulted her to stardom as a solo artist. The groovy disco-pop anthem quickly topped the charts worldwide upon its release, and became the most-played song in Europe in 2002; it then made a massive resurgence in 2024 after being featured in the film Saltburn and trending on TikTok.
