The song won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and also Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. It's a timeless classic.

The melodic line is contained in the 1st violin part throughout. To add some sense of movement the cello part contains arpeggiated 'figures'. At the mid point the arrangement is transposed to another key which creates melodic interest.
