String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.540531

Composed by D. Scarlatti. Arranged by Linda M. Scott. Baroque. Score and parts. 8 pages. Linda M Scott #4295807. Published by Linda M Scott (A0.540531).

This arrangement was originally written for harpsichord. In the 1700's Charles Avison orchestrated this (and several other Scarlatti keyboard sonatas) for string orchestra. This spritely arrangement is very approachable for most intermediate groups. This piece is great for intermediate students, amateurs and professionals. Minimal use of third position, and easy rhythmic patterns characterize this piece.

Composed by George Frideric Handel. Arranged by Adrian Gagiu. Baroque,Chamber. 60 pages. Adrian Gagiu #751852. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1151657).

Handel’s great set of 12 Concerti grossi (= Grand Concertos, in the first edition) op. 6 are somehow a bit related in spirit, through their power and diversity, with Beethoven’s string quartets. Therefore, here they are arranged for the more ‘abstract’ and ‘timeless’ medium of the string quartet, allowing also for an addition to the repertoire of the respective ensembles. Articulation, tempo and dynamics indications were specified or added where needed, and all the trills were indicated to start with the upper auxiliary note, not only according to the Baroque performance practice but also fitting to the melodic contour. Concerto grosso in D major, op. 6 no. 5: 1. Larghetto-Allegro – majestic introduction and a vigorous fugato; 2. Presto – humorous and surprising; 3. Largo – nostalgic, in the style of Corelli; 4. Allegro vivace – even more humorous, brilliant, high-spirited and driven (and also evoking D. Scarlatti and Telemann); 5. Menuet (Un poco larghetto) – appeased and varied. Total duration 15 min. The mp3 audio clip is the first movement. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN.

Composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Arranged by Inacio Saldanha. Contemporary. Score and parts. 13 pages. Inacio Saldanha #5023901. Published by Inacio Saldanha (A0.798083).

Chega de Saudade (Brazilian Portuguese: ['ʃega dÊ’i saw'dadÊ’i]) (published English version is No More Blues) is a bossa nova jazz standard. It is often considered to be the first recorded bossa nova song. The music was composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and the lyrics were written by Vinícius de Moraes. João Gilberto's recording is the most famous.

The song was first recorded in 1957 by Brazilian singer Elizete Cardoso and released on her 1958 album entitled Canção Do Amor Demais; however, the public took little notice of her release. João Gilberto included the second recorded version of the track in 1958. Released as a single, the song became a hit and would solidify bossa nova as a permanent genre in the Latin music lexicon. The song also appeared on Gilberto's first album Chega De Saudade.

The title can be translated roughly as enough longing, though the Portuguese word, saudade, carries with it a far more complex meaning. The word implies an intensity of heartfelt connection that is yearned for passionately, not unlike feeling withdrawal symptoms from a drug that makes one feel good. Another good analogy might be an intense homesickness. Chega, in this case, means no moreenough.

The song form is 64 measures. It is equally split between 32 measures in a minor key and the 32 measures in a major key. The key of the original recording by Elizete Cardoso went from D minor (the relative minor of F with one flat) to D major (two sharps).

Arranged for String Quartet. Key of D. Early Intermediate.

Composed by Jose Luis Armenteros Sanchez and Pablo Herrero Ibarz. Arranged by Luis Turina and Nonamé Música. 20th Century,Classical,Latin,Multicultural,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 9 pages. Nonamé Música #776677. Published by Nonamé Música (A0.1176600).

(From Wikipedia) Venezuela is a popular Venezuelan song, with lyrics and music by [...] Los Relámpagos [...]. The popularity and sentiment it evokes in Venezuelans is such that it is considered the fourth anthem from Venezuela, [after] the National Anthem, Alma llanera and Conticinio, from the Venezuelan, Laudelino Mejías...

With millions of Venezuelans emigrating all over the world, it was almost a crime not to have this song available to them. Grooms and brides alike cry when they enter their weddings listening to these chords, guests singing and hugging each other... It really touches the heart.

While the cello plays almost a continuum, the viola and violins alternate the melody, with a multitude of counter-themes, ornaments, second voices and counterpoints. A joy to play it, very simple as well. Beware of the calderón of the change of tone.

Arrangement on one page per instrument to facilitate outdoor performance. Bowings, dynamics and rehearsal letters to be able to make a good sightreading.

Letra/Lyrics

Nuevas estrellas

Y si un día tengo que naufragar
Y el tifón rompe mis velas
Enterrad mi cuerpo cerca del mar
En Venezuela

SKU: A0.1117161

Composed by Carlos Toro Montoro and Manuel de la Calva Diego. Arranged by Gono Gómez and Nonamé Música. 20th Century,Latin,Pop,Singer/Songwriter,Wedding. 17 pages. Nonamé Música #718739. Published by Nonamé Música (A0.1117161).

The confinement song par excellence. A hymn that transcends generations and is undoubtedly the most beautiful song, hackneyed as it may be, by the greats Manuel de la Calva and Carlos Toro Montoro (EL DUO DINÃMICO). For those who don't know, they are also the authors of most of Julio Igesias' songs and the mythical LaLaLa with which Massiel won Eurovision.

Arrangement for quite traditional quartet: The cello plays the bass line all the time and the three upper voices share the accompaniment in upbeat and the two main melodies. Simple to play, perfect for listening.

Arrangement on only two pages per instrument to facilitate its interpretation outdoors. Bowings and dynamics to facilitate a good sightreading.
